We could go back and stop the crucifixion, or we could go back to a time before we did that sin and start again couldn't we?

You would not necessarily be able to change the past just because you could go back and observe it. But you have made an interesting point.

Realize that if a Time Machine is possible, then "up the line" it has already happened, and might explain many of the strange phenomena of the past. For example, when Jesus was taken up into heaven in a cloud, was that a contemporary interpretation of his leaving in a flying vessel of some sort? Or take some of those startling flashes of genius which some people have had throughout history. Perhaps they are (as with "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court") explained by someone from the future whispering in the right ear at the right time. And what about those prize specimens of ancient coins or artwork that look like they have never been touched: were they picked up as investments and carried forward?

The crucifixion happened once and for all. A time machine wouldn't change that. Jesus is with the Father now, in a time outside of time. He doesn't need time to keep everything from happening at once because he's not limited in the way we are now.

going a little deeper into your question, let's look at why we have Jesus: we want to forgiveness, explanations, or comfort. If we had time travel, we could just go back in time and change that which made us want those things. So yes, if we had a time machine, we wouldn't need religion.

If you stole Jesus from the time line it would disrupt the time to which you are taking him causing you to do something else in which... my head hurts! Just don't go build a time machine and Jesus plz!

No.
I can tell you this for certain.
Even if people go back to Jerusalem 2000 years ago, and come back to report that they couldn't find anyone who even remotely resembled Jesus, and none of the people crucified ever came back to life...

people would still believe. They have faith.
Actual evidence will not change their faith.

We could also go back to a time where your Mummy met your Daddy and stop them so that you wouldn't be around to stop asking this ridiculous and stupid question. Wise Up! Spend your time more productively by trying to cure cancer or why Imperialist countries till invade other countries.
