WOW! Now that's what I call a question within a question. lol.

To answer your first question, the answer is No.

To answer your second question, the answer is No.

I don't persecute anyone, and neither does God.

In-fact, God is against Persecution in any form.

In The Holy Bible, From The Book of Matthew Chapter 5 Verses 43 through 48, All Christians are to abide by these words spoken by Jesus himself.

As for the problem you speak of, I see but one. However, I speak to all Christians reading this now. As a Christian, it is your responsibility to walk in the footsteps of the Lord. Jesus didn't come to condemn the world, and we as Christians have no right in eyes of God to place Judgement on those who fall weak in their faith. We are to preach the Gospel of Christ to those who are willing to Listen. We can not interfere with the freewill of Man. Moses did as He was told, and did not interfere. We must do the same. Those who seek God, will find Him. God loves each one of us and will always be there for those who turn to him. Do as God has commanded. Remember your faith!

To the person below me, "Brainwashed by who? God" lol. You have much to learn young one.

Christians think that EVERYONE is bad; that by accepting Christ, they have been redeemed, and that those who do not do so are ruled by Satan.

They see gays who are still living in what they perceive as a chosen lifestyle as abominations. They also are coming to believe that even if being homosexual is not chosen, but that one is born that way, that they should, with the help of Christ overcome those tendencies and live as "god intended" them to do.

Christians, who were told that they were to be "in the world, but not of it", do their best to ignore any science which discredits their view of their Bible. While most (perhap all) of the verses addressing homosexuality originally had nothing to do with that subject, they stick with translations that condemn it even where the original scriptures did not. Christians have a number of books from the likes of James Dobson which presume to teach parents how to avoid doing wrong things which might "push" children into that "lifestyle", and promote great guilt in parents of children who ultimately find that they are gay.

It is doubtful that Christianity will ever be persuaded by facts, science or reason.

I am Christian and I don't hate atheists or gay people. As Christians we are to love all people and in loving them bring them the truth of God's love. Because God created us and loves us he has expectations for us and for how we live. In my case, I would encourage you to read the bible with an open mind in order that you would be saved. But I would never think of persecuting or humiliating ANYONE---after all I am sinner that needs God's forgiveness daily.

I am a Christian, but I do agree with you. It's so mean to judge people you don't even know! There can be nice people who believe in God, and nice people who don't. The same way there can be mean people who believe in God and mean people who don't.

I think society lets stereotypes play waaaaaay too big of a role in forming opinions of other groups of people. I am thinking of being baptized into a sect of Christianity and I had someone who e-mailed me through Y!A and told me I was wanting to join a "cult"! It annoyed me that someone would say that about me when they don't even know me.

As hard as it may be, try to take it with a grain of salt. Some people are narrow-minded, and to them, anyone who has a difference of opinion is "wrong". It's sad that they have to be such babies about things like that, instead of treating people with respect!

I may not agree with your beliefs, but I still respect you as a fellow human being

:-)

Many Christians think that. They seem to have the need to convert everyone to their way of thinking.

I've found that some of the worst people are Christians because of these judgments. I love the Lord and I love Jesus and I suppose that makes me a Christian to some degree, but I cannot abide by that faith for many reasons. Also, I leave the judging to God.

You being an athiest represent two very serious threats to a devout christian.

First and least serious, you don't believe, this means you probably will not attend church. This means the church and the clergy will not recieve your offerings. Boo, hiss, lost revenue the enemy of the 21st century.

The more serious issue is that athiests represent that question we all don't want to face. What if we die and nothing happens?

Christians have carefully constructed false realities, you not believing in it means they have a harder time believing in it too. Can't have that, easier to hate an athiest.

Yes, I think Christians are basically obligated to consider atheism and homosexuality as bad in some degree. Certainly there are liberal Christians, and there are even gay Christians, but an atheist Christian would be contradiction in terms. Fundamentalists are basically forced into the role of condemning everyone who does not believe as they claim to. (I say "claim to" because I fail to understand how anyone can honestly take the entire Bible literally, since there are so many contradictions in it.)

God loves even gays and atheists, but He hates atheISM and homosexualITY. He loves the sinner, hates the sin. He wants to save them, so he gives them multiple chances throughout their lives to respond to the pleadings of the Holy Spirit and change their ways. You'd really have to try quite hard to avoid God to go to Hell.

Its not that we think you are bad people we do not wish to persecute you all we are doing is trying to lead you to the Lord that is our command from our Lord the only problem that i see is that if there is sin in ones life and we Christians do not try and lead you to Christ so that he can cleanse you from that sin then your blood is on our hands =)
