It would all depends. If you look friendly, were to make eye contact and smile, then sure, I would say hi. But if you were to walk past with your head down, or pretend like I wasn't there, I would just keep on walking.

Heh.. I was thinking about this today. Why don't people greet each other anymore, even strangers? I have nothing against greeting anyone with a smile, a nod or even a "Hi, how are you?" (I do it all the time. I'm a southerner living in a more northern state.) But for most people that means you have to make eye contact and for some reason they have a very difficult time doing that.

If you say hello first or smile at me I will say hi. I notice when hiking everyone says hi to each other. The same people who would not say hi walking on the street...strange.

It depends. If you stare at me I'll probably will look at you crazy. But if we breifly then most likely no. The only way i'll probably say hi is if you say it first or if i'm talking with someone and i glance up at you inmid conversation.

I'm a rural southerner, we say hi to everyone. some of us still hold the door open for ladies. shoot, we even waive at people we dont even know as we pass on the hiway. yankees dont do that, their to wrapped up in themselves.

If you smiled and made eye contact or nodded or said hi I might say hi or might return the friendly gesture. People aren't very friendly any more are they.

I dont generally say hi to people i dont know or else Id have to say hi to everyone so no, but if I know who you are then yes

I smile & nod at everyone that makes eye contact w/ me. So, if you were looking at me, I'd say hi that way.

to me, you would be a randon person, and i dont say hi to random people i dont know, so the answer is no...unless you said hi to me first in a non-creepy way, then sure.
