Can U put a toyota corolla stereo/radio in a toyota matrix? R they the same size/fit if they R the same year?

I need to change the cd player in a Toyota Matrix. Would a cd/tape player from a Toyota Corolla of the same year be a match? I'm having a hard time tracking down a replacement Matrix player (I want one with a tape player).

If they're the same size, then they should be interchangeable; but you'll have to take the brackets off the sides of the Matrix radio and attach them to the sides of the Corolla radio to mount it. The radio chassis might be the same but the two vehicles use different mounting brackets. It should be pretty easy to do.

they should fit. but id say only the new ones but they play cds not tapes
