My mom is 36 and was diagnosed with m.s. when she was 23, what are the chances of her being in a wheelchair by the time she is 50? By the way, the m.s. is not at bad as it used to be and she shows almost no symptoms at all.(she took some perscription shots for a year and now its in 'remission) is there a chance the m.s. is gone or will it come back?

MS is progressive, but the speed at which it progresses varies tremendously. She may never get to a wheelchair, so be of good cheer.

I've known several people with M.S. from the time they were small children, you'd have never known it. While others have had severe symptoms. It varies with the individual. While I do know one woman, and it's ad, she can be good for so long, goes out and weeds the garden, goes fishing and walks her property. The next time you see her, she's bedridden and can't move for days at a time and, nearly blind.
This is the way it is I'm sorry to say.

chance are it will come back but the more you help your mom to stay healthy get plenty of rest when needed and exercise to keep her body strong the better off she will be. The less stress you mom has to endure also helps prevent reoccurances since M.S. is a muscle/nerve disease.
