You bet they can, but only if the money is right and don't expect it to be correct or accurate.

Some psychics are genuinely gifted but even they are human, find one by reputation only. If one gives you a name it is always worth cross checking the results. The Black Watch or other service based information sites will have records of their own and the history of their soldiers. Also try asking anyone else who was around at that time if they have anymore info.
Good luck

You don't need a psychic, you need a friend or relative of your mother's to tell you the truth. Psychics aren't real and you're not going to get closure through strangers on the internet. Someone you know has the answer and you'll get closure when you convince them to open up and tell you the rest of the story.

Only if someone on the other side knows the answer, and then they will usually only give cryptic hints. I hope you find what you're looking for though. What you can do is contact the rigade and ask them if they have any information about troops stationed there. Sometimes they can be very helpful on this side as well.

Who told you your father died in the war, if they new him do they not want to give you the info you need.
Also if you have your birth certificate or your fathers last know address may be the Samaritans or salvation army , or some one can help you trace that part of your family and help you find your father.

Lucy has a good point. If someone knows for sure that your father died, then he or she must know who your father was. Why won't he or she tell you?
But I would not trust a person who claims to be a psychic.
