ok well i'm 13 and i'm going out with this guy thats my age. We started going out last friday at a school dance. Well i want 2 break up with him because i found out from a good friend that he's going 2 break up with me and i know he's been saying bad things about me behind my back. But when i called he was out and hes at this sport he plays and he has a game so he won't be back till way later. And now i'm going 2 a dance tonight but since i didn't officially break-up with him i'm wondering if i could slow dance with someone else. Would that be cheating??

I don't think it's cheating as per se, but many people may view it as that. I would play it safe and not do anything like slow-dancing with someone else right now. High-school is a rough place, and the last thing you need is to give people a reason to hate you...they make up enough reasons as it is.

Part of growing up is learning how to deal with other people and treat them right. You can't string him along. Go to your dance and do what you want. But then you have to tell him what you did and break up with him nicely. "Listen, we had a lot of fun. But I don't think things are working out. I think you feel the same way too, so I hope you understand."

No it's not cheating. I wouldn't consider slow dancing in public cheating anyway...
And you're going to break up anyway so don't worry about it. He's been saying bad things about you so it probably wouldn't even hurt his feelings even if it were "cheating".

it isnt cheating cause its only a dance, cheating is like making out or flirting badly. besides if ur going to break up with him anyways, then u have nothin to worry. have a great night and dont let him get to u that night. have fun!!!

technically no, cuz if all your gonna do is slow dance with someone there's no harm in that. if you were to kiss them or flirt alot then some people might consider that cheating. but i think that a slow dance wouldn't hurt.

No its a dance. and as long as no touching and kissing going on i don't see it as cheating.

but my boyfriend is really protective over me and i love it . and i won't ever dance with anyone but him, we only dance with each other. but i trust him totally and v.s.. but I'm 18 and in love and so but in ur case i don't see anything wrong with it.

Good Luck - alaina
