this is from the food network, called creme brulee french toast... it is to die for! (I am making it for Mother's Day)

Creme Brulee French Toast

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons corn syrup
1 (8 to 9) inch round loaf Challah bread
5 large eggs
1 1/2 cups half and half
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon Grand Marnier
1/4 teaspoon salt

In a small heavy saucepan melt butter with butter with brown sugar and corn syrup over moderate heat, stirring, until smooth and pour into a 13 by 9 by 2-inch baking dish. Cut 6 (1-inch) thick slices from center portion of bread, reserving ends for another use, and trim crusts. Arrange bread slices in one layer in baking dish, squeezing them slightly to fit. In a bowl whisk together eggs, half and half, vanilla, Grand Marnier and salt until combined well and pour evenly over bread. Chill bread mixture, covered, at least 8 hours and up to 1 day.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and bring bread mixture to room temperature. Bake uncovered, in middle of oven until puffed and edges are pale golden, 35 to 40 minutes

I use 2 eggs and a splash of milk. No measurements. Just so after mixing it is a yellow whitish color. It should be mostly egg and just some milk. And you can try to add a little cinnamon-sugar to the batter. That is all. The bread also matters. French Bread actually makes great french toast. Dip the bread in batter and cook until golden brown.

for the egg mixture just use eggs, milk, Tsp of Vanilla extract, and sprinkle of Cinnamon.

Also, I recommend you uses thick slices of french bread!

And AWESOME topping is sliced bananas sauted in melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Just cook until sugar is melted & smooth. YUMMY!!!

2 eggs
1 cup half and half
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp orange zest
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Blend the above ingrediants while you get your pan hot enough to brown the bread slices (medium) without burning them.
Use thick slices of bread and allow mixture to soak into it before frying.

eggs (as many as u need to cover ur amount of bread) milk and whatever spices u like. I use cinnamon and or nutmeg it tastes great. its as simple as that. (not a lot of cinnamon and just about 1/4 cup of milk or less depending on how much eggs u have) just use ur discretion theres no exact measurement it all depends on ur taste
