Please explain a bit more. Are we talking about the all programmes in the start menu?

If you are, all this is, is folder with shortcuts that have been created when you installed a programme. If somehow you have managed to delete this. it can be resolved very easily. Simply open your recycle bin look for the programmes folder in there, then select restore.

If it's not there the simplest way would be to create a new account with the same privileges as your self.

Restart windows so that the desktop will be created for that user. Then right click start menu, select explore all users, navigate to that user name. Click on the name and look for the start menu.

Click on the start menu and then look for programmes folder in the right hand pane window, don't open it. instead single click to highlight press ctrl c then navigate to your account, double click on the start, in the right window pane click on a blank part and this time press ctrl v

NOTE make sure you hold the ctrl down whilst doing the copy and paste.

This will now replace the programme folder. Some programme short cuts will need to be created manually as not all software sets itself up for all user accounts.

You can now also delete the other account if you wish.

Let me know if this is not the problems I may be able to point you to a solution.

Use windows restore it will most likely be the safest way for you.

go to the start and then select run in the run box type

c:\windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe

This will start the Windows restore program if it was configured to run on your PC.

Use this and select the "restore my computer to an earlier time option. It will then show you a calendar. the bold date are those that you can use. Go back in time is like uninstalling programs you installed and patches you installed. If you only mucked it up a day ago then just go back one or two days. this should help. it is easy to use and only deletes windows types stuff not your My Documents type data. it reverses changes made to the Windows directory and the registry - but like I said it is very easy to use one click stuff.

Good luck.

If I understand you, you are saying you lost programs. Does this mean all programs? This would be quite unusual because usually, you have to go thru control panel to uninstall any program.
I suggest you go to tools, and find restore. Pick a date before this started happening and it should restore perfectly. Good luck.

Start>All programs>Accessories>System tools and System restore. Here you can restore any programs you may have lost. Follow the on screen steps.
