Yes, Mailibu rum would be fine.

My favorite summer drink with appetizers is Coconut Rum, orange juice and a splash of grenadine. You can serve it over the rocks in old-fashioned glasses. Or, mix it up in a martini shaker with crushed ice and strain it into Martini glasses. Dress it up with a cherry or slice of orange or fresh pineapple.

Malibu Rum would be okay but if you want to make a splash why not try a great white wine.

How about a 2005 S.L.C. Chardonnay from Mission Winery it would pair wonderfully with shrimp and crab hors d’œuvre.

The correct answer is "Do Not Eat It!" When seafood is Fresh it does not smell or taste "Fishy" As it ages, it begins to smell and taste "Fishy". Soaking it in a Baking soda & water solution can remove the smell, then rinse in clean water several minutes (leaving it kinda tasteless), then soak or rub it with lemon juice and seasonings to your taste and liking. But remember that the smell is caused by decomposing flesh "juices". You can remove or neutralize them to some degree, but the damage is done..permenently. Eat vegetarian...its healthier :)

I like Bloody Mary's with seafood. Also a dry white wine goes well.

best drink i've found to go with seafood is bluebottle beer. according to the label they've used some top food experts to match the flavours so it perfectly complements seafood. if you love beer, try bluebottle beer... their website is www.bluebottlebeer.com.au
