Glad you did your homework on the breed before you bought her. YES, they are very slow to mature and usually don't settle down much until 3+ years.

Take the pup on a walk a pair of cases an afternoon (in line with how hyper she is) attempt taking the pup out on a walk with the toddler in a stroller (as quickly because of the fact the toddler is historic passable) the pup could get used to the toddler in the stroller, besides the undeniable fact that i'm now no longer an experienced so look at between the pup guidance television shows like pup whisperer or check out getting a instructor

Yes it is, after 2 more towards 3 they calm down. I have a 2 year old and 7 year old and they are both great dogs. The best thing I can tell you is exercise her, the more exercise she gets the better dog she will be. Take her swimming, throw the ball (several times a day) and very long walks. Labs are bred to be hunting dogs and like most dogs bred with a purpose they have that natural desire to hunt which causes pent up energy to turn destruction at times.

Yes - that's totally normal for a 1.5 year old lab. Labs are in the puppy stage until they're about 2.5 to 3 years old. You probably know this, but labs and lab mixes are high-energy dogs who need lots of play time and lots of exercise. If you need for your dog to be calmer, you'll have to make sure she's getting plenty of exercise - good cardio-vascular exercise. Just give your girl plenty of exercise and make sure she has plenty of toys when you're not home so that she doesn't get bored. If she's bored, she's likely to give herself a job to do - like digging up plants or moving all the rugs.

My lab gets a long walk in the morning before my partner and I go to work, and one of us gives him at least 45 minutes of fetch/frisbee time in the evening. Also, he goes to the dog park for a couple of hours most Saturdays and Sundays. He's 2 years old, and he's started to calm down a little bit - but can still get pretty wild!! And - if it's rainy and we can't take him out, he'll just start running circles through the house and finding creative ways to amuse himself :-) All normal Lab puppy behavior. Good thing his people are high-energy too!

I have three Labs. The boys are 2.5 and the girl is almost 2. When the boys turned 2 it was like night and day. One day they were eating my couch and being generally crazy, and the next day they were much calmer. (ok so it didn't REALLY happen in days, but I saw a HUGE change in them right around the time they turned 2) They are still hyper and get excited but MUCH calmer than when they were puppies.

Try walking her every day if you can. That really helps with mine. I mean they have a huge backyard to play in, but they still like their walks.

So, yes, it is totally normal for the breed. Trust me!!

Yes. All labradors are VERY hyper and VERY intelligent. My Aunt Ruth has 3. The oldest one (Lilly Pearl) is 5 years old and is still SUPER HYPER! Lol!

Labradors stay puppy like for MANY years. I met one lab that I thought would be like 2 years old because of his energy level, but his owner told me he was 9! They usually stay puppy like for a long time. So, yes, it is absolutely normal.

Labradors are very active and playful dogs so its very natural and normal for them to be hyper at this age. in fact at any age. If you are still having problem controlling her then its better you give her lots of exercise which will make her tired and she'll not be super hyper.

It is 'normal' for a lab to have lots of energy, however, jumping up on people, running away, pulling on her lead when being walked, chewing, etc. are indications of poor training and have nothing to do with the age or temperament of your dog. Regardless of the age or breed, if you are providing adequate exercise and being consistent in training her, you will have a responsible well behaved dog and will BOTH be happier! Good luck!

Yes, Retrievers have the mentality of puppies, even as they get to be 2-5 years old. They are very happy, playful dogs who like to jump and run and lick your face and don't realize their size or strength. It's important, even when they're being cute, to be firm with the dog because it is so big and could knock things (or people) over.

Labs are often very puppy-ish till they are 3-4 years old. They are smart and will learn alot in that time. You can train them to do most anything so long as you take into account the fact that their puppy-ish attention span is really short.
