Parvo symptoms are repeated vomiting and diarrhea. The dogs also end up having a slight but distinct walk that looks a little out of line if viewed from the back. It's not just a strange stool once in a while. They get really sick and die within a few days. Your dog doesn't have parvo.

The DHLPPC vaccine that puppies get takes a booster a few weeks later to adequately protect them from the diseases especially when the first vaccine is given as early as your baby's was or if Mom was already innoculated.

You said the vet wormed the dog too? If so, it is probably just a normal variation of a stool. He should also be rewormed with a pyrantal type product on a monthly basis. If he is going to be an outside dog there is a product called heartguard that can be given to him monthly that has both pyrantal for worms and ivermectin to kill heartworms. If he is an inside dog, you could just buy wormer with pyrantal in it from a farm supply store to save money.

If your puppy shows other signs of illness besides runny stools just once in a while you should have him checked by your vet. There are numerous possible reasons for intestinal symptoms.

Is the poo diarrhoea or is it solid? Blood in the faeces isn't always parvo, it can also be colitis or worms or other things - it isn't usually good though.

Has your pup had the second part of his vaccine yet? Vaccinations consist of two separate injections, 2 or 3 weeks apart. Until he has had the second course, he is not immune.

I would ring your vet when possible and ask about this, blood is a sign of something being wrong, but not necessarily parvo. Parvo is usually profuse diarrhoea that becomes more and more bloody, accompanied by vomiting.

young puppies shouldnt' have blood in their stools, but don't panic yet.
Do take your puppy and a stool sample into the vet.

Whenever you think your dog MIGHT have parvo, DO NOT LET HIM TOUCH ANYTHING that may come in contact with another dog. This means that you tell your vet ahead of time that you are worried it's parvo. I've had vets make me wait in my car while they ran a test on the stool, only when it's clean would they let me bring the dog in. IF your vet doesn't make you wait in the car CARRY the puppy into the vet, don't set him down on ANYTHING.

That all said, it could just be worms. Worms need to be treated too though, so get him to a vet soon!

Parvovirus can live for some time on the ground, and in the environment and can be carried on people. If your neighbor's dog had it and your neighbor visited you, then your dogs have been exposed. Once exposed the virus takes about 7-10 days to cause symptoms. Vaccinating them now, immediately, is your best bet, but since they may already be harboring the virus it may not prevent them from getting sick. Unfortunately, that is all you can do unless they start showing symptoms. If they start acting sick, have any vomitting or diarrhea get them to the vet as soon as possible. Sometimes with hospitalization, IV fluids and medications some dogs do make it, but you can't get them well on your own. If your dogs get sick clean everything that you can with diluted bleach, including concrete and spray it on the yard. Wash anything bleachable in bleach. Hope your dogs don't get sick. This is why vaccinating puppies on a schedule is so important. Best wishes.

Yes it may be the shots but by now your pup should be fine from that. I would call your vet and have them do a stool sample test to see if maybe it is just some worms. If your pup has been wormed then it also can be from that also. It is always best to have the stool checked when any blood is seen.

Yes you should be very worried! It could not be Parvo but a number of many other things. Take him to the vet ASAP and let them check him out! Without seeing the vet your not gonna get any right answers on what is wrong with your guy.

That sounds more like a parasite than parvo: blood in every other stool is something my puppy had when he had coccidiosis. If he's still running around and playing and eating normally, you should still take him to the vet for a fecal exam so they can give you the proper antibiotic to kill the parasite.

Make a appointment with your vet and take a fresh sample of the # 2 Put it in a new plastic bag.
Parvo is nothing to mess with..don't take the chance.
Has your pup been dewormed yet ? This could also be the problem..either way take a sample to the vets.
