I'm gonna try this gas out thingy this year for the first time. Lets all try it and see what happens. I've read all the anti-gas out stuff but I'm still gonna give it a shot for the heck of it.

Don't bother to inconvenience yourself. There are not enough people willing to go through with this for it to matter. It's a nice concept, but the gas stations know if you skip out on gas on the 15th, you'll either be filling up on the 14th or 16th, so they're not going to really care. What they miss out on that day they'll know you'll eventually pump later. The only way to really impact things is to use less gas during the entire year, not just one day. The May 15th deal is a really shortsighted strategy by disgruntled consumers.

Don't be so stupid. It didn't work in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, or 2006, what makes you think this year will be different? There is only one way to force prices down, and that is to increase supply. The best way to increase supply is to use less gas. Prices don't increase on fuel they aren't selling. But the truth is, consumption has risen every year.

I'll be driving by the pumps on the 15th, but I do that every day. I drive a car that gets 45 miles to the gallon. How about you?

You can't effect supply and demand in one day. It needs to be a year round effort. Get a car that gets better mileage. Ride a bike to work. Walk to the corner store instead of driving, meet a few neighbors.

People, think for a minute...you're still going to use the gas, and you're still going to have to buy it, just on a different day...duh.

I have heard about this also and I am going to do it. I'm also telling everyone I know not to go on that day too...so should everyone. It's about time we told the oil companies we are tired of being raped by them.
