I have constant back pain, I cant sleep flat, or my back will really ache. I also have a deep pain in my pelvis. Have a hard time starting to uninate, and a hard time empying my bladder. have heard that these might be cancer symptoms. Anyone else have these symptoms and been diagnosed. My doctors keep sending me away with antibiotics. They never help and it is costing me a fortune.

If you are a man, this sounds more like a prostate problem. It could be a urinary tract infection, and depending on the antibiotics you've been prescribed, the bacteria causing your problems may be immune to it. You need a urinalysis with a culture and sensitivity test. This will determine the prominent bacteria in your urinary tract and what antibiotic it will respond best to. Another possibility is gonorrhea, but you would most likely have a penile discharge with a strong odor.

Men with prostate problems tend to have trouble urinating, but rarely have pain.

The lower back pain is typically a symptom of a urinary tract infection and difficulty urinating can accompany it as well. These symptoms also hold true for women, but the pain the the pelvis is a bit mystifying without an ultrasound. The pelvic pain could be an indication of kidney or bladder stones (in both men and women) or urterine cysts or endometriosis (in women). Regardless, if you're not finding relief from the typical course of antibiotics, it's time to contact a specialist.

It sounds like you need to see a urologist rather than a primary care physician or ER doctor. Although I'm a nurse, my speciality is not men's health; however you've definately got something going on that needs addressing.

For now, continue drinking plenty of fluids. Avoid carbonated drinks, caffeine, and high sugar content.

Peace and good luck to you,

Beki

you may have a dislocated disk, like my husband did he had to have surgery after his doctor kept giving him pain pills. He had all the same symptoms that you have, but stay on their case about the pain and ask them if it is possible to have any tests done. Also you may have just have a strained muscle but more than likely have a dislocated disk. So if I was you I would go to a spine doctor to get a MRI done to make for sure. About that cancer thing you should go get tested any time you have any doubts about any health risk's you should always be safe and get checked for it all! Sorry to say it maybe you have a (UTI).Just suggesting.

You need to get a better doctor. The pain in urination makes it sound like an infection, but the back pain makes it sound like muscle or nerve injury. You need to get a basic UA and probably an MRI or X-ray of your back. You might have two separate problems.

Are you pregnant?

Sounds like kidneys or urinary tract infection, which can be real hard for antibiotics to get to & heal. Drink lots of clear water & see a urologist.
