What passages of the Bible have you, personally, found hard to understand the meaning of?

Please don't give me stories and concepts that don't "make sense" to you (i.e. "The story of creation, the story of noah's ark, the death/rebirth don't make any sense."). And, please don't give me stories and concepts that you find contradictory, etc...

But rather, please tell me specific passages within the Bible that you, personally, have found hard to understand the meaning to.

Thank You.
Peace and Love!

When at the wedding feast at Cana (John Chapter 2), Mary approaches Jesus to ask for help because the wine has run out.

He responds "Woman, what have you to do with me? My hour has not yet come."

His response always seemed kind of harsh and rude to me, but the priest explained to me that "woman" is a term of respect for the Hebrew. It is like a title.

And what Jesus was asking her was "what role will you play in my salvific missoin?" Mary's role was to lend her amazing hope and faith, not just to be a biological mother.

By "my hour" Jesus must have meant the hour of His passion and death.

The hardest verse in the Bible to understand would be John 3:16 ~ For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotton Son that whosoever beliveth in Him should not parish but have everlasting life. That verse is the hardest to comprehend because how could God let His Son Jesus come to earth to be born of a virgin to grow up and minister to His people and then be crucified by them.Even though if he hadn't done that we would all die and go to hell how could a person do that for worthless peices of dirt,in reality all we are is dirt that's what God made us from is dirt so think about that one and tell me what you think.☺

Good question! I want to see the answers to this, too.

I find Isaiah and Revelations very hard to comprehend, and also many of the words written by Paul. I think he is not always terribly clear.

And if I got my understanding from the Bible alone, I think
1 Corinthians 15 would be hard to understand.

Yeah I would have to say Revelation at one point, until I did an in depth study and was so on fire for God at that time, I want to study it again! I would like to study (in depth) each book of the bible, for I have not done an actual study on all of them-- just some. But the more I read it, the more God reveals His truth and mysteries and it is what makes me crave more of His wonderful wisdom!

I once found Revelation to be the hardest book to understand. But over the past few years, I stopped avoiding it and starting learning more about it.
I've come to understand what's to be taken literal, and what's not.
What's a vision, and what's pure prophecy.

I am eager to know who the person was that John kept bowing down to in the book of revelations, to be told each time not to worship him. I suspect it is Jesus but have no way to prove it. John obviously recognized this person and thought it was God.
