Read it cover to cover.

If you read the NT first, it will bias your understanding of the prophecies.

Read the OT first, so you understand the prophecies, and you'll find that the NT is a fraud.

First read the torah, the first five books of the bible and the prophets. Without a firm grasp of what these books say you will never properly understand the New Testiment.

After you finish then read the gospels. Anything that doesn't seem to fit torah you should write down and search out why. Look at differant translations and get a good lexicon and check out the validity of the words used in the translations.

reread both of those again then move onto the general epistles and acts and for some good historcal background the historical books in the old testiment. Also this is a good time to look into the wisdom books.

After you have a firm grasp of what is being said in those other books then you may attempt the epistles of Paul. A warning. Peter warns us that Paul's writings are hard to understand and that many twist what he said as they do the rest of scripture to there own distruction. Again when something doesn't fit write it down and search for the answer. The New testiment needs to agree with the Old testiment.

II Tim. 3:14-17 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Read one of the gospels first then start at the beginning with Genesis. Gospels are Matthew, Mark, Luke & John.

When Christ returns He may issue a Newer Testament, but for now the Old and New is all we get. Believe me, they are more than anyone can humanly digest in one lifetime.

Enjoy your reading. The Bible is the greatest book ever written and inspired by the Living God.

You should read from cover to cover. The Bible is written chronologically. The Hebrew Scriptures gives prophecies, such as the coming of Christ and countless other prophesies. That is why the Jews were awaiting The Savior or The Christ or the new King of the Jews. So by reading the Hebrew Scriptures, first, then the Greek Scriptures, you will more easily understand what you are reading as you go along, and when you get to the Greek Scriptures.

I would recommend reading John, or one of the other gospels in the NT first- then you can read other parts in the Bible and it will all come together- due to the fact the whole Bible points to Christ. The Newer Testament- sorry there is no other- we are not to add or subtract from the Bible- it is the whole word of God. Also I would recommend you reading Genesis along side the NT so you can see why we need Jesus!!

The Old Testament is good to read as a background, but I'd recommend reading the New Testament first. Mainly because the old testament is basically for background reading.

There are some great historical stories in there, and they show some of the ways that God moved in people's lives. Jonah for example is about a self-centered believer who doesn't want to do what God wants him to do.

Job was a man who held so mightily onto his integrity that he forgot to look at where he was in God's eyes. When he realized that, all of his life was restored.

David was a man after God's heart and demonstrates how a person can follow God, but still make some big goofs in his life and through true repentance regain a relationship with God.

Abraham shows us how to hold onto something for a long time. Promises from God are in his timing, not in ours. The same with Noah - he preached and built that ark for a long time before the rains came.

Esther is one of my favorites. She demonstrates how an ordinary woman can be put into a situation to help others, even when they are not aware of the reason for these difficulties. The same for Joseph (as in the Coat of Many colors Joseph).

Moses demonstrates how 1/3 of his life was in training (prince of Egypt), 1/3 of his life was in exile, and the final 1/3 of his life - he realized why he went through things in his life as they helped him to become the great leader that he became.

So, although I'm talking about the old testament, I suggest reading the new testament first. It gives you the foundation to understand a relationship with God. But the Old testament fits in because by understanding the old testament, you learn to comprehend the reasons for so many things that happened.

As far as the sequel, lol. I think we will have the word of God when we get to eternity. It took about 4000 years of history for the Old Testament, and I think in God's time, we will speak to God directly.

My opinion is that you should read the Gospels first. Then read the Old Testament, then go back and read the rest of the New Testament. If you read anything, read Mathew, Mark, Luke and John. If you can find the most recent book found and is published, read the Book of Thomas.
For an amazing book to read, read the " Book of Urantia "
close to 1000 pages in the back are about the life of Jesus in more detail than the Bible.

Good idea to read Genesis first and then move on to the New Testament.
The Book of Genesis has sometimes been called the "seed-plot" of the entire Bible. Most of the major doctrines in the Bible are introduced in "seed" form in the Book of Genesis. Along with the fall of man, God's promise of salvation or redemption is recorded (Genesis 3:15). The doctrines of creation, imputation of sin, justification, atonement, depravity, wrath, grace, sovereignty, responsibility, and many more are all addressed in this "seed" Book called Genesis.
Many of the great questions of life are answered in Genesis. (1) Where have I come from? (answered in Genesis 1:1) (2) Why am I here? (answered in Genesis 15:6) (3) Where am I going? (answered in Genesis 25:8). Genesis has appeal to the scientist, the historian, the theologian, the housewife, the farmer, the traveler, and the man or woman of God. It is a fitting beginning for God's story of His love for mankind, the Bible.

Read it in order, as you would with any book. Genesis through Revelations.

The Newer Testament was supposed to be released on June 6th last year, but due to copyright infringements, the date has been pushed back indefinitely.

The New Testament.

Start with the New Testament. Because that has the book of Luke, which is about a farm boy on Tattoonee who learns to use the force and rescue Princess Leia. Then go back to read the prequels. No wait, I think that's something else.

Read the OT first. Read it cover to cover.
