Self-explainatory. Are there any special safety measures, rules, and behavioral things that I need to consider? Thanks in advance.

Seriously I'd leave her home. Sand fleas, pseudomonus, swimmer's itch. Unless it's a water dog, no.

If you want to bring your dog to the beach, make certain you'll be adequately prepared to provide supervision. It would be terrible to lose your dog in an unfamiliar place!

Additionally, bring plenty of water, more than you think you and the dog will need, just to be certain. Your dog will be especially thirsty with the warm sand and the fresh salt air. Additionally, if your dog got a small scratch or cut, you'd want to have fresh water available for cleaning it.

Be sure to check the rules for the location you are going to see if they allow pets, and follow any additional safety provisions (for example, if they require that all dogs be on a leash).

It could be an excellent outing for the two of you if you prepare well. Hope you both have a great time!

If you really want to take her you should make sure that she is allowed.. You want to bring your own water and water bowl. Also you want to make sure you bring something so that the dog can get out of the sun/heat. Sure the dog can cool down in the water, but if it's too warm she'll need to be able to get to the shade... Something to pick up any poop.. and a good leash... Remember not everyone there wants a dog at the beach so you'll need to keep her under good control so that she doesn't bother the others and she isn't a nuisance.

Take him to a dog beach. He'll have a ball.

DO be sure to bring a bottle of water and a plastic bowl. When he gets thirsty, and he will, do NOT let him drink the salt water (obviously). Not only is it loaded with bacteria, but will make him vomit for hours. Ensure he has the clean, fresh water to drink and give it to him BEFORE he is thirsty so he knows you have it. Yes, that means you will have to carry it with you, but isn't it worth it to give him some fun on the beach and some pleasure for a change?

Do take a leash in case any dogs are unfriendly and you have to leash your dog and lead him away.

And the most obvious rule: ensure dogs are welcome at the beach you plan to attend.

Even if you let your dog run around, keep the leash attached to the collar/harness. Try to go to a special dog beach, which keeps a fence around the water in cold weather to prevent pup-sicles. If you don't have a local dog beach, I would suggest going to the beach early in the morning or late at night to avoid scaring dog-phobic people. DO NOT let the dog go into the water when it is too cold.

Pick up the poo. Please. No one wants to be running barefoot through the sand and then step in a little present. If she's well trained then letting off the lead is probably okay, but if not then try to keep her on it all the time. Check the signs near the beach too - most let dogs on beaches, but some ban them completely or require them to be on lead. You might also want to take along a towel and a brush - if she gets wet she's going to soak your car and cover it in sand on the way home if you can't dry her and brush off any sand.

Check if dogs are allowed.
Bring a leash and a clean-up kit.
Bring water for the dog to drink.
Bring the dog's license or permit.

Check if there are certain places on that beach where they shouldn't be.

Keep him on a leash if he won't come when called.

keep him under your control at all times.

Clean up after him.

Bring food and water for him.

Take him into the water so he can play if he wants to. Why should you have all the fun?

Not all beaches allow animals so I'd check into that first, and I'm sure there are leash laws on most beaches.

I wouldwant to make sure dogs are allowed on the beach you want to go to. Also, I would make sure the dog is on a leash and you have bags for his her going to the bathroom(to put it politely!)
