Since animals and humans share the same cell, then what it is that grants humans a soul and animals none?
Absolutely no gospels, thank you. Use logic.

That isn't written in the bible that animals don't have a soul.

I believe they are a body & a soul. Even the little fish in my tank, if it dies, it mouth is open like it let out its little soul.

If you know of a verse that clearly writes this, please let me know.

But humans are in Gods image originally; body, soul & spirit. A trinity.

This just shows how humans think about themselves, do you really believe you have a soul and an animal does not, if you do, then your shallow and small, first of all, how do you know you have a soul to begin with, an how do you know an animal does not.

This is what I think.

If I were to think of God's image, it would be everything and everyone, not just man, but the animals, the water, the plants, the air, the stars...everything.

If I were to think of God's breath of life, it's energy, energy in us, in the trees, in the animals, it's everywhere in everything, it's the energy that can not be created nor destroyed just transforms from one to another form, if science can take a simple Hydrogen atom and split it which could be for a weapon or for the use of power.

Everything has atoms (even smaller components of an atom has been found), every atom is a form of energy, and if a soul is a type of form of energy, then I guess everything has a soul.

I believe in Nature, humans are animals, your no greater or lesser than anything else.

Edit.......To me a soul and sprit is the same thing

To some of you who say animals cannot understand the consequences of their actions, or know what is right and what is wrong or it's just all instinct, still proves you still think small.
Some examples:
Only now that we are able to understand and communicate with animals, they have free will either to listen or to ignore us, dolphins, gorillas, birds dogs just to name a few, and for some in zoos or in parks to make this simple, if an animal wants a favorite treat, the animal must do something, if not the consequence is no treat, if a human knows the consequences of stealing or robbing or rapping or murdering, and the human knew what was right from wrong and still does it, does that mean that person has no soul?

Another example:
Right and wrong depends on society; lets say a Wolf Pack and Army (or factor worker, pizza place...ect) for example:

Every wolf know it's place in the pack, by working together the pack can survive in their environment , Human side, soldiers by working together as a team, they can survive in their environment.
Wolf side, when a wolf is out of line, (the wolf did wrong), the higher ranking wolf will straighten that one wolf out. Human side, when a soldier is out of line, (the soldier did wrong) and the higher ranking soldier (officer or non-commission officer) will straighten that one soldier out. They both received the consequences of their actions, both can learn from it or do the same thing again at a different place and time.

Right or wrong depends on society, don't judge one society from another's even though it maybe a different species.

1. Animals do not have souls. 2 and 3. The Bible does not teach that humans have souls. Genesis 2:7 and 1 Corinthians 15:45 says that Adam came to be a living soul, not came to have a soul. Genesis 1:24 calls lower animals souls as well. What is a soul then? The Hebrew word Nephesh is used for animals and humans and refers to the creature itself, not some immaterial spirit. H. M. Orlinsky of Hebrew Union College, stated that the word “soul” had been virtually eliminated from the newest translation of the Torah (issued by The Jewish Publication Society of America ) because, “the Hebrew word in question here is ‘Nefesh.’” He added: “Other translators have interpreted it to mean ‘soul,’ which is completely inaccurate. The Bible does not say we have a soul. ‘Nefesh’ is the person himself, his need for food, the very blood in his veins, his being.”—The New York Times, October 12, 1962. The New Catholic Encyclopedia agrees with this. In its article “Soul (in the Bible),” it says: “There is no dichotomy [division into two parts] of body and soul in the OT [“Old Testament,” or Hebrew Scriptures].” It adds that in the Bible, the word “soul” “never means soul as distinct from the body or the individual person.” Indeed, soul often “means the individual being itself whether of animals or men.” Souls are not immortal. Ezekiel 18:4 makes it clear that souls die. Why do most churches teach the soul is an immortal spirit that people have? The New Catholic Encyclopedia, in its article “Soul, Human, Immortality Of,” says that early Church Fathers found support for belief in an immortal soul, not in the Bible, but in “the poets and philosophers and general tradition of Greek thought . . . Later, the scholastics preferred to make use of Plato or principles from Aristotle.” It states that “the influence of Platonic and Neoplatonic thought”—including belief in the immortal soul—eventually was inserted “into the very core of Christian theology.”

Why do you cite the bible then say "no Gospels". You exclude the only logical answer, Spiritual experience.
Life is life Period. There is but one life. it is in all living things. As the colors of the rainbow are contained within sunlight, so to are all things contained within the light of Gods love. This can not be fully comprehended by the mind, the mind must be led into the heart where one transcends the mind and experiences union with God in Unconditional Love.
All things are the consciousness of God.

The Bible was written centuries before science allowed us to understand how closely related we are to most forms of life on Earth. All that the people of that time could see was that animals had no hands, built nothing, and could not speak. To them, that meant that they were not human-like, and therefore could not possibly have souls the way humans obviously did.

Personally I think that if humans have souls, animals -- or at least the higher animals -- probably have them too.

There is no other explanation, except what the Bible teaches.
Humans AND animals ARE living souls!!!! Gen. 2:7 and verse 19. We were made from dirt, so the dirt or soul goes back to the ground, from where it came. Verse 7 explains our spirit; when God blew life into Adam's nostrils, which is our source of life, our spirit, Job. 27:3. It's like God put a battery in us and we started running. Our spirit would be that battery. So our soul goes back to the ground and our spirit goes back to God, From where they both came from. Ps. 146:4/Ec. 12:7.

Because according to the Bilble we are supposed to be made in Gods image, and a dog or a cat isnt. But I still believe animals have souls, you hear of too many stories of life after death expierences where people see their dead pets from their childhood.

Some theology people say that animals have souls because the soul is what gives us emotions. Animals feel sad, afraid, happy, etc. However, they say animals don't have SPIRITS in that they aren't capable of sinning and can't go to an afterlife.

Humans have spirits and that's what makes us different from animals and capable of doing evil beyond simple instincts.

I've always tried to find in the Bible somethings good about animals. It says in the Bible Take care of your Beast is the only thing so far. I think in the Bible some of it, is how you interpret some of the sayings. I choose to believe we'll be with our precious lovedone's and our blessed pets. If you so choose.

All life have soul, even a single cell. Biology is not really alive, it only obeys or form from the invisible.
