If i want to add a word in the middle of a sentence, Word won't let me. The new word I type replaces the text already in the sentence. How do I fix this?

Simply press your 'insert' key on your keyboard once!

Cheers

Open word, in the upper left open 'tools', from the tabs at the top of this open the 'auto correct' tab, uncheck the 'replace as you type' box, click OK and close. This should fix your problem. You can also try your keyboard 'insert' key to see if this will correct it.
Happy typing!

Press your Insert button on your keyboard (top right?)

You are in typeover mode instead of insert. This key will toggle back and forth between the two.

Actually, it isn't Word. It is your keyboard. Press the "insert" key on the top right of your keyboard to turn it off.

If you ever want to turn it back on again, simply press the same "insert" key again.

Not a problem - I think.
You must have accidentally hit the "insert" button which is just above "delete."
Insert is a toggle. Press on/press off.
When insert is on, whatever you type will be inserted to the left of the cursor.
