Okay, this is the question:

I get the synthetic part. But I'm not sure what to do next.

I do not get it! How come this maths question is in botany section !!!

You start by using synthetic division to divide x - 8 out of x^3 - 5x^2 - 34x + 80. Then you need to factor the remaining polynomial. Knowing that x = 8 is a root already gave you the factor x - 8, which is x + A with A = -8. I'll take you at your word that you were successful with the synthetic division. You should have gotten a quotient of x^2 + 3x - 10. This isn't too hard to factor. I got (x + 5)(x - 2). That means that B = 5 and C = -2.
