On Wednesday, I got into a yelling match with my son's principal. Yesterday, she acted like it never happened and asked be to be on the PTA board next year. What will she do today?

The reason why she wants you on the PTA board is because you proved to her that your not going to take any crap and don't have a problem voicing your opinion and can get things done, or she was just kissing your butt.

First of all, I find it odd that a parent would get into a "yelling match" with the principal. As far as asking you to be on the PTA board, do whatever you feel is needed. However, I would be very uneasy about having my children in a school where the principal participates in yelling matches with the parents. Its is extremely unprofessional.

I think that it is right of you to speak your opinion, even if it lead to a "yelling match". Maybe the reason why she asked you to join the PTA was because you gave her your honest opinion... if the yelling match was because you needed to give your opinion, etc. I would follow my gut feelings though.... if you have an eery feeling about it, don't do it! That's for sure.

Principals are a lot like ministers - forgiving everyone.
You seem to have more of a problem with life than she does. Remember, dealing with kids and their parents is part of her job...................
Perhaps she felt you had great concern so you would be a good candidate for the PTA.......................

It depends what the match was about. If it was about American Idol results, thats one thing - i thought Blake should have gone.
