Take the medicine and work with your doctor to get your problems under control. Therapy and group therapy are good ideas as well and you should ask your doctor about that.
If you do not take your medicine you will go between being depressed and being very manic and with the psychosis, I am assuming you would experience hallucinations and delusions at the heigth of your mania or depression. Ask your doctor to be sure...I am not a doctor.

It shouldn't make you feel slow or crazy. It's designed to make you feel normal. You shouldn't feel doped up, and if you do, tell your doctor. Sometimes it can take a couple of tries before you find the medicine that is right for you.
If you don't take the medicine, it can do lots of things to you. I am not familiar personally with psychosis but I lived with a woman who had bipolar and when she would take her medicine all the time, she would feel relatively good and stable. Then she would think she was cured and stop taking the meds. After a few days, she'd be depressed but she wouldn't feel like it was connected to stopping the meds. And then she'd be back to having the manic episodes. It was hard to watch her refuse help.
Here is a website about anti-psychotic meds.

You should never just stop taking your medicine without discussing it with your doctor. And if you find a med that works for you, keep taking it - it's like being diabetic. A diabetic wouldn't just stop taking their medicine when they felt better - they need it forever.
Good luck! Glad that you have a diagnosis - now you can get the right treatment and feel like yourself again!

Take the meds prescribed by your psychiatrist. If you feel side effects, discuss these with your psychiatrist and work in partnership to get the best treatment experience you can get. There are side effects to the medications. It is important for you to let a professional know what you are experiencing. There are a variety of meds out there. If you take the meds you can have a pretty normal life.

earlier you're taking any of the stuff human beings advise on right here, for goodness sakes, communicate on your healthcare expert! Herbs can work together with drugs and could need area outcomes. in case you have cirrhosis of the liver, or think of you're able to, you incredibly need to circulate to the healthcare expert and ask THEM this question.

if your bi-polar you need to take the meds.
if you are taking meds and they don't seem right to you or not helping, you may need to change them. One med I took really screwed with my memory and train of thought for the first week I took it. After that i was fine.
