Yes, it's stress due to re-locating, and new people. Give him some time, he'll come around (have him checked out by a vet if he doesn't eat or drink after 3 days, because then there's risk of a health problem.)

This is so hard to answer without details! Is this dog a puppy just leaving his mom for the first time? If so, are you certain he is old enough for solid food? Many "backyard breeders" have a bad habit of getting rid of puppies way too soon so they can start breeding the mom again.

If you got him from another person, has your dog had a recent check up by its old owners? Do you have any medical history on him? If not, definatly make an appointment with a vet to make sure he is up to date on shots, etc. Always take a new dog to a vet if you have bought him at a pet store! Pet stores do not have the best reputation for selling healthy dogs.

It is possible that your dog is just nervous or sad at leaving his old home/owners. Is he showing any other signs of fear? Or is he maybe overly excited, wanting to play with his new friends more than he wants to eat or drink?

Just to be safe, you might want to call a local vet and see if he reccomends that you bring him in to be sure. A check up couldnt hurt, right? It worries me the most that your dog isnt drinking, especially if it is hot where you live.

Poor thing has just been brought into a whole new environment. Give him some time to adjust. He has to learn to trust you and is so nervous that he can't eat or drink. Imagine if you were taken away to a new place and didn't know what was going to happen to you. You may not have an appetite either. It's the same thing. Give him some space and let him check out his new surroundings.

Could be, it's hard to say tho.. When you get a new dog, you should always make a vet appointment right away.. That way you have them checked for parasites, the vet has a record of your new pet.. and then if things come up in the future, he has something to look back to.. Dog weighed 80 lbs for 3 years, then suddenly dropped 20 lbs.. If it's all recorded, then they have a good reference for your dog in the future.. They know what his normal is, or what he has been thru etc..

thats most likley the problem. almost every time a dog is in a new enviornment, he wont eat for a while. but make sire that you dont leave his food down all day. stary with 3 times a day set it down and see if he eats (you may have to leave it down for a while) but eventually he will realise that those are his set times to eat and he will. if hes healthy than thats the only logic reason. or some ppl will say that he misses some of his friends, but i would not worry at all. it may take a while but he will eat. and if he still dosnt, give him a little cooked chicken on top of his food or something like that to get him to eat.

It takes a couple of days for a puppy to become acclimated to a new home. An older dog may take longer. Just leave the dog alone until he/she starts getting interested in you.

Possibly. When we first got my dog, she acted the same way. Your dog isnt familiar with it's surroundings, so he's probably a bit frightened. Just to be sure, you should give your vet a call or visit.
