Oh my! Hun,don't stress so much! Your body is going through SO many changes right now. Who cares what the boys think, worry about them later. You will grow into your body eventually. Focus on yourself and your self-esteem before worrying about what others think. You are healthy enough to be in sports.

Eat healthy foods, drink plenty of water, get plenty of rest at night and stay in track along with whatever else you are doing for exercise. You have to want to lose the weight for yourself. Your heath is more important than your body. Trying to lose weight to get attention from boys is the WRONG reason.

I am a Youth Cheerleading Coach. Your size doesn't matter! Neither does your ability to do tumbling! If you want to learn, take a class or practice, practice, practice! What matters in Cheerleading is your abily to execute the cheer properly, your SPIRIT and your ATTITUDE. One thing I always tell my girls ... "There is no I in team" ... and they are pretty good at remembering that.

For Cheerleading you need overall body strength. Upperbody, Core & Lowerbody. Gotta' be able to hold those flyers during stunts and have the strength to catch them when they fall. Having strong leg muscles will help you jump higher too!

My daughter is on my squad, (no special treatment either), and she is about 4 ft 10 in and around 120 pounds. She is a good cheerleader. She can't tumble either, so don't worry. And she has love handles and big thighs and wears a size bigger than me in clothes but that doesn't mean anything. She has a larger bone structure than me, but she is HEALTHY, is comfortable in her own skin, has lots of friends and she even has boys that have crushes on her. She is starting to get taller but her weight remains the same.

Always remember that your size in Cheerleading does not matter. It is your abilities, your spirit and having a team attitude. Your Coaches or Sponsors will look for that first. (or should anyway if they are any kind of a good coach)

I wish you the best of luck! Be confident, smile, and have fun. Practice the cheers you learn at camp and show them how good you can be. You are what you make of yourself. And NEVER give up! Also never give up who you are on the inside to be someone you are not on the outside. Like I said before, you will grow into your body soon.

I was 13 once. I DO remeber how it is at your age. It wasn't that long ago!!! LOL!

Best wishes & good luck!
Elvn

1) Get over trying to look like a model. It's an unrealistic goal. I am sure you are a very pretty young lady as-is.
2) Wear clothes because they flatter you, not because of the label.
3) Weight is no big deal in cheerleading. A lot of the bases on the all-girl squads weigh more than you.
4) See if you can take tumbling lessons at the Y or a gymnastics or allstar cheer center.

Good luck!

ok if you caculate your BMR: http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/

get that number and if you eat 500 calories less than that number for an entire week you will lose a pound a week, if you eat 250 calories less than that number for a week, you will loose half a pound a week. Also in the Morning get up and do some sitsups, pushups, ect. BEFORE YOU EAT because your body will use the stored fat for energy. Along with a good diet and exercise you can shed off the pounds fairly easy. I would also recommend when you run/jog to carry 2 pound dumbells because it will tone your arms. As for your thighs swim and ride a bike alot. Drink lots of water not only will you have no zits [not saying that you do] but you will also pee alot and it actually helps. Eat a medium sized breakfast so you wont be starving by lunch and always eat an early dinner. Or you can have a light breakfast, lunch, and dinner with small snacks in between.

Lots of good answers already. Take portions of them all BMR, keep exercising, and ignore other people's comments. One thing that worked for me is to keep a food journal. Keep track for a week anything you put in your mouth (even a stick of gum). If you add up the calories you can get a total each day and see how much you are over or under your BMR. You tend to eat less if you watch what you are putting in your mouth. Lots of good calculators to reach your goals on the website referenced.

You're so young! What I did was to run every morning, 4 miles. Then I would exercise for approx. 1 hr. I did side bends, forward bends & also swim alot. When you swim, you use all of the muscles in your body & it helps you. Another idea is to have 1 orange a day, or 1 cup of orange juice. Eat alot of salad, too!!!
Don't worry about those guys, if they want bodies, let them get someone else! Lots of luck!

Eat plenty of veggies/salads w/ fat free dressings.
Drink enough water.
Stay away from soda/juice (too much sugar)
Eat lean means to help cut down on fat
Eat less carbs later in the day
When doing cardio, try faster/harder workouts for a shorter amount of time.
Do some light weight training that focus on the bigger muscle groups to help burn more calories.
Eat 5-6 small meals a day.
Give yourself 1 or 2 free days a month to eat what you want, but don't over do it. (like the 15th & 30th)

Losing weight must be done for the right reasons. It can't be done to please others, or gain the attention of others. You have much more than your body to offer this world. In order to begin the weight loss process, you must begin eating healthy. Eat plenty of veggies and some fruits, and eat lean meats like chicken and turkey, and lean beef. Beans, rice, etc. Drink plenty of water. Keep running track! Track did wonders for me too when I was your age. Keep it up. I know it can be difficult, but it will provide you a great way to utilize fat for fuel once you are done running. Run hard, have fun, and enjoy being who you are.
