I recently read a question that was specifically directed to fellow believers in which a young person was asking for opinions based on faith. I was appalled that there were several non-believers that answered. WHY? Can you not keep your opinions to yourself, even when asked? Again, the question was SPECIFICALLY asked to believers. DUH! And you guys accuse christians of overstepping their bonds, better look in the mirror people.

These are exactly the answers I expected. You guys scream and cry about your right to believe or not believe, yet you have Zero respect for the other person. Bunch of whiners!

well as a born again atheist and once a born again christian can answer questions based on the bible.

But um christians do the same thing..im willing to bet that you have answered a question that is directed towards no-believers before. In fact I'm even more willing to bet by the time I hit submit on this question one of your little jesus buds would have answered your question also.

We accuse christians of overstepping their boundaries in a real life basis. You dont see atheists pitching a fit when a christian answeres questions that arent directed towards them, now do you? No thats silly. This is a forum. Now as far as you telling us to look in the mirror. That statement implicates that "us atheists" have complained about the aforementioned scenario and are being hypocritical. Which isn't the case.

Take a deep breath and reach down your pants and pull the boxer/briefs/boxer-briefs out from your crack and calm down. It'll be alright.

Let's see, because it's an open forum and anyone can answer a question. That's the format. Besides, you Christians do answer questions directed at others all the damn time. You guys go over into the LGBT section and post...why? Can't you keep your opinions to yourself? Don't you see how hypocritical you are in saying what you just said?

We might as well ask why so many Christians jump at the chance to proselytize by "answering" questions clearly directed at atheists, or Hindus, or Muslims or any other non-Christians.

Regardless, why do people expect so much from Yahoo Answers? This is a free site where anybody with an internet connection can register an account, pretend to be anybody, and answer questions on any subject without having any qualifications. On top of that, it's barely moderated, it's not set up for discussion (just Q&A), and the topics come and go so fast that it's just as madenning than a chat room. Besides, it's not like this it the only place on the internet to discuss religion.

Both sides of the same coin. Christian do the same. Also many atheist have extensive knowledge of the bible. If it's a biblic question they may be able to help. If this is a true open forum people should be willing to take answers from all points of life. Not just those that mirror their own beliefs. Of course one shouldn't "blast" the other religions in doing so. Also respect is earned. If you cannot respect our beliefs how do you expect us to respect yours?

I didn't answer, and I almost never get involved in a question directed specifically to theists or about a religious topic.

If somebody wants only christians (I assume that's what you mean by 'believers', since only christians are that arrogant) to answer the question, they should prefix it with 'christians:'.

We're just trying to give the person a chance to undo the damage caused by years of indoctrination.

Well, I ask the same question to believers. Why do some of you feel the need to shove your beliefs down our throats? Why do you feel you need to pray for us? Why do you feel we need saved? Keep your beliefs to yourself, and we will in turn do the same.

It's an open forum. You can't restrict who answers, even by request. The fact that god does not exist needs to be stated over and over again.

Specifically, this is an open forum. Don't like it? Ask your questions in church.
