Why would you go from a half way decent motor to one that was a nightmare for Ford?
Basically the answer is no.. the front suspension and mounting in the current truck wouldn't support it without major reinforcing and with the f-150s aluminum center support, the engine would crush it... best to buy new truck

Replacing the engine on that particular truck is a hard enough job as it is with the CORRECT engine, let alone a different one! 6.0L engines are only available on F-250 & up Super Duty trucks, which use a totally different chassis. I wouldn't even want to imagine the wiring nightmare (FICM, PCM, & TCM) as well as the Torqshift transmission you would also need. Consider this. To remove and replace the engine on your truck requires lifting the body off the frame to access. Take a look at these pictures: http://flatratetech.com/index.php?categoryid=18&s=a089cc0c72306e1c70d6ad1421972c93
The last question I have would have, is WHY would you want to? If you want a diesel, you are better off trading it in for a diesel. Hope this helps.

possible (?) but not practical. You would have definate weight distribution issues (if you could even get that size engine IN the thing) & i'm afraid it would not be drivable.
I'll give you an example:
At the Chicago Auto Show this year, Toyota displayed a Tundra with a snow plow blade attached.......Well the weight of the blade on the front litterally lifted the rear wheels off of the ground! (kinda hard to drive a rear wheel drive vehicle if the rear tires are off the ground)
It was displayed like that for 3-4 days & got quite a few laughs before the ToyBoys figured out how to adjust.

Possible??? Yes...with the right amount of $$$ and patience. Of course, i've also seen a 454 big block in a Honda CRX. :)
It will not be a simple swap as the required electronics, sensors, etc. are completely different. For instance, the Diesel will use Glow plugs and the gas motor has spark plugs. You would not only have to change motors, but also the computer, wiring harnesses, all the associated sensors and controllers, not to mention that the diesel may not bolt up to your tranny or chassis.

Yes it is. It is possible to put the 6.0 in a Ford Escort, all it depends is how much money you want to spend. Any car Engine will go in any car. Boss Hoss bikes are Chevy V8's in a bike frame.

Sure but, it's gonna be alot of work. Wiring, fuel pump, radiator, mounts, exhaust, transmission, all would have to be changed. Not practical.
