They're always polite and friendly.Do they just enjoy talking to people or is there another reason that they go to people's houses?

Jesus told us to do these work"These good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nation;and then the end will come,Matthew 24:14.
in Matthew10:7,11-13,Jesus told His deciples to go to the homes of the poeple and preached a bout the kingdom of God drawn near.......

and doing these we can save our selves and to those who listen and obey the good news.

Jehovah's Witnesses doing these work because of their Love to Jehovah God and His Son Jesus and to the people. We don't get any payment of doing these.

and Troy next time if you have some question a bout us and our belief please try to communicate some true Jehovahs people instead of asking those people who dont know Jehovah and Us.
THANK YOU!!

A common misconception is that Jehovah's Witnesses go from door-to-door because they feel it is their duty to "recruit" a householder, or get him to "convert". In fact, Jehovah's Witnesses would go from door-to-door even if there were no hope that anyone would change their religion, or even if no one would listen to them!

That is because Jesus Christ specifically assigned the house-to-house ministry to the Christian congregation, with no regard for specific results.

(Luke 10:1,2) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come. 2 Then he began to say to them: “The harvest, indeed, is great, but the workers are few. Therefore beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.

Jehovah's Witnesses are trained to direct attention to the bible, and move on when their message is unwanted. Since each congregation in the United States tries to call at every home in its territory at least twice each year, there is strong motivation for them to move on where little interest is shown. Also, the Scriptures help the Witnesses to expect little interest from most:

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching ...and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

my understanding is that every person has to have a chance to either accept God's Kingdom or to continue believing mankinds politics will make the world better. Once everyone makes their choice (I'm guessing that "not interested" and slamming doors is a choice) then satan's world political system will be eliminated and God will establish His Kingdom of peace and love and eternal life without suffering.

The Jehovah's Witnesses take seriously Jesus' command to preach.

"Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit." -- Matthew 28:19

"While I did not hold back from telling YOU any of the things that were profitable nor from teaching YOU publicly and from house to house." -- Acts 20:20

By observing the command to preach, they show Jehovah that they love him.

"I do nothing of my own initiative; but just as the Father taught me I speak these things." -- John 8:28

They also preach because they want to counteract the lies that Satan is promoting against him.
As Jehovah’s Witnesses, they yearn to share in exposing Satan’s slanders and in sanctifying God’s name before mankind.

"The god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through." -- 2 Corinthians 4:4

"“YOU are my witnesses,” is the utterance of Jehovah, “even my servant whom I have chosen, in order that YOU may know and have faith in me, and that YOU may understand that I am the same One. Before me there was no God formed, and after me there continued to be none. I am Jehovah, and besides me there is no savior.”
“I myself have told forth and have saved and have caused [it] to be heard, when there was among YOU no strange [god]. So YOU are my witnesses,” is the utterance of Jehovah, “and I am God." -- Isaiah 43:10-12

The apostole Paul showed how important is to preach the good news.

"If, now, I am declaring the good news, it is no reason for me to boast, for necessity is laid upon me. Really, woe is me if I did not declare the good news!" -- 1 Corinthians 9:16

Well in Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus gave the command to preach the good news of his Father's coming kingdom. That is our goal. To preach to as many people as possible, guide them through the teachings of the Bible, in hopes that they will gain everlasting life. (John 3:16; 17:3)

Also, we enjoy going door to door. Although we are often met with ones who threaten us or slam doors in our faces, there are still ones out there who actually appreciate that we are following in Jesus' footsteps, and listen to us.

I've been told I'm not the kind of person their looking for
So other then spreading the Gospel they are looking for recruits. I've been to their Kingdom Hall . I observed and wasn't impressed with what I saw. They have a dress code .
Most are well versed in the Bible and I believe that have one of their own . The translation is somewhat confusing -Instead of cross they use tree and things such as that.

read Matthew 28 verse 19 and 20. Jesus Christ commanded us to do this. we cannot change your religion. remember that they laughed at Jesus Christ and Noah who was building an ark. Jehovah closed the door on the ark and destroyed the wicked and he will do it again. we are going to live on a Paradise earth that Adam and Eve lost. Jehovah cannot and will not lie. read ps 83 verse 18 that is God's name. www.watchtower.org

YES to get CREDIT for hours served in Kingdom Duty which they fill out at the Kingdom Hall. Ask them will they be writing down the time served in a total sum for service at their next attendence.

They also believe it improves their standing here with the Watchtower WHO does keep up with their time and for earning their salvation.

Either way it is a misleading truth. Friendly or not they have a false gospel.

We are saved by grace alone, by faith alone and by Christ alone.

They are trying to get you interested in the word of Jehova, in hopes that you will convert.

What they don't know is that I have an agenda too..and I will ask them questions about god and religion that they have no good answers for, and then I shut the door.
