Would you really trust buying something so important as a Canon or Nikon digital camera from China? China has been in the news so much these days because of fraud and counterfeiting that I wouldn't trust buying anyting there right now.

I've been to China every year of my life and if you want to buy electronics there from a trusted dealer, the price is usually $20-$50 more than it is in the U.S.
I've seen a Canon Rebel XT there for about $600 U.S. dollars.

If you know who you are buying by all means by it there! My sister-in-law works for a company that does business with China and gets so many electronics stuff at awesome prices! 4GB Flash Drive for $20! They are definitely cheaper than the U.S.

I don't know what the price difference is but with the right connections you will save tons.

I wont recommond it. No US warrenty, could be a counterfit, and you will have to pay for import taxes anyway when you leave China. Not the best things in the world so no.
