I haven't really heard of fried bread unless you mean like on grilled cheese. Just measure your butter or whatever your frying it in and add whatever calories the butter has to what your bread has. I would be more worried with the fat than the calories. When I make grilled cheese I use fat free/calorie free, spray Pam and sometimes I add just a small amount of butter for taste.

Calories In Fried Bread

Deep fried or pan fried? Deep fried would be very difficult to determine, as it would be all of the substance in which it was fried that was soaked up by the bread. You could weigh the pan before and after frying (with the oil or whatever inside) and see how much left with the bread. Then just multiply that amount times the calories in the substance for the amount used.

Pan frying would be easier to determine. You would probably just be using a tablespoon of oil or butter or something, and can just look up the calories for that amount of oil or butter.

Either way, frying doesn't add calories per se, it's just the substance in which you fry it that adds the calories. If it's going into your body, it adds calories.

A lowfat spray into a frying pan may not add substantial calories at all.

Fried Bread is something I remember from my childhood, can't say its a regular part of my diet now mind you, back then we used to fry it in beef dripping which is 'pure' fat.

It probably has as many calories as a burger meal from the local fast food outlet :D so wouldn't recommend it, try eggy bread instead, not quite as unhealthy as it doesn't absorb as much of the fat, but its still quite naughty.
