Not knowing what you did or said, there's no way to know if you "scared him off". However, it is polite to call the day/evening before a date to confirm it's still on and all is well. Someone who says they'll do something and then doesn't keep their word, is raising a red flag.
See what happens this evening, but if you get stood up then write him off and move on.

depends my bf doesn't call me all the time when he says he will. he might have forgotten to call but he might call tonight.
