nicknames shouldnt be dervied by people who don't even know you or him. try thinking about things you guys do together, maybe things he says often or derive a nickname from some object that you really love to show that you associate him with that love too.

It is more of a guy thing. I'd stick with the name his parents gave him or the one he picked up in high school (the complimentary ones, only).
