One small step at a time, it sounds like you are on the right track. Don't buy unhealthy food and there will be no chance of making it.
As far as exercising goes try a workout tape in the vcr or a piece of exercise equipment in the house.
Natural weight loss supplements can be a benefit to a good diet and exercise program. There are two all natural diet pills that are safe and have no side effects. They are Cha de Bugre and Hoodia Gordonii.
Cha de Bugre, is a new weight loss supplement that is growing in popularity and is similar to Ma Huang (Ephedrine) without any of the bad effects. Cha de Bugre is from Brazil and has been used there safely for centuries. Cha de Bugre provides energy, fat burning and appetite suppression that benefit weight loss. Cha de Bugre also has additional uses that are known in Brazil that include being used as a mild diuretic, a cellulite reducer, aides in reducing herpes simplex outbreaks and a heart tonic. You can find more about it at http://hoodiagordonii.totalink.com/cha_de_bugre.html
Hoodia Gordonii is a natural appetite suppressant derived from a South African cactus that the bushmen have eaten there for thousands of years. You need to make sure you get a strong pure hoodia that is certified to be genuine. Check out Totalink's unbiased Hoodia comparison at http://hoodiagordonii.totalink.com/hoodia_comparison.html in the "Confidence" column it will indicate if the brand is "Certified". These Hoodia brands have the credentials to back up their product. Also in that column it will indicate if the brand is "Returnable". These Hoodia brands allow you to return opened bottles and get your money back. I think this indicates that a company has confidence in their product that it works.
Keep in mind that Hoodia Gordonii alone provides appetite suppression but not fat burning. Cha de Bugre is a fat burner but not as good as hoodia with appetite suppression. There are also brands that mix Cha de Bugre with Hoodia Gordonii and other weight loss herbs like Green Tea that can increase both fat burning and appetite suppression.
I have written a lot of articles on Hoodia. Just search Yahoo or Google under my name “Andrew Aitaken” to find them.
Remember, you should always consult your physician before taking any diet pill or weight loss supplement.

I determined the booklet to be very informative and convenient to learn. I've misplaced 17 kilos in 12 days, I'm simply worried that I'm wasting an excessive amount of weight, too speedily. I will admit I have not adopted the consultant precisely. I'm now not sticking flawlessly to the indexed meals and meal plans (however in most cases) and doing little or no recreation, however the weight maintains flying off. It obviously works and if I'd adopted it precisely I suppose it might scare the residing daylights out of me on the grounds that of the volume that I'd lose. So thank you once more for the understanding. I've not ever bought some thing like this earlier than on the grounds that they're mostly filled with trash, however 3WD has been a first-class shock. Get began in these days!

Something in your life needs to change if you want to lose weight. You simply need to find a way to do it. Can you drop of your child in day care for 1 hour while you go to the gym or exercise? Can your partner watch the child while you exercise? Can you plan out meals on Sunday for the week so you have everthing you need. It doesn't take any longer to make a heathy meal than to make an unhealthy one. Can you make and freeze stuff to help yourself out?
If you really want to do this, you can. I am an honurs student, I work full-time, I do freelance work on the side, I am part of a competive dance team that trains 3 times a week, performs 3 times a week and is required to do fundraisers, etc on my own time. I am the organizor of 2 groups, I have a boyfriend, I get together with my family often, and I stil have time to cook all my own heathy meals every day and go to the gym 5 times a week and have lost 40 lbs. Sorry if it seems harsh, but you are just making excuses. You need to make a lifetyle change if you are serious about this. Otherwise, accept how you are bcause it is't going to change.
Oh and don't listen to April. She either has an eating disorder or is really stupid (sorry but it had to be said). You can't starve yourself. Obviously that's unhealthy and it will eventally kill you. I'm sure you don't want that, esp considering you have a son to take care of.

Here are some simple tips to help you loose weight. Firstly learn about food. Learn about what you like. Learn your tastes. Experiment with a variety of food types. Loosing weight is not a chore however it can be an education.
Drink more water; preferably drink it before you eat. Introduce more greens into your diet. Try and eat fruit first before other foods. A smoothie in the morning can work wonders. Try and introduce more raw vegetables into your weekly menu. Do some research on food and play with different types to see what you like.
Based on your observations create a menu for each week of the month. This way you vary your food throughout the month and then just rotate for the following month. Always be on the look out for new variations and tastes to introduce to your monthly diet. You do not have to starve yourself. What you need to do is eat more of the right foods.
Substitute the poor quality foods with better quality foods. Do not force your self to eat foods that you do not like in order to loose weight. There are plenty of food types. There is bound to be ones that you like. All you have to is find them.

it all starts in the mind...limit your eating......keep on your toes...and breastfeeding is great too......
you can do it....
start by buying food that isn't junk....
if you are in a hurry....buy some of the vegetarian hamburgers hot dogs, pot pies, ribs, etc....they may not taste exactly the same, but they are so much healthier and you can pop them in the microwave...and you'd be saving tons of calories this way.
when it comes to eating again, don't eat more than one helping.......if you have pizza....go ahead and eat it...but only 1 pizza..you gotta limit yourself....
try not to buy any candy or junk food....trainers say to keep a huge bar of dark chocolate in the fridge..it's less fattening, and will take care of your sweet tooth...
quit drinking soda! you can switch to diet..but that stuff itsn't good for you either...drink lots of water (that will help you lose water fat) and lots of juices....
(NOte...I understand some of the food I have mentioned above, you may not like........some are acquired tastes..you just have to make yourself like it..the more you eat the stuff the more you will get use to it.)
don't serve big portions
get the rest of the family involved, and get them to understand how important it is for you to lose this weight, and any help they could offer would be great.
any exercise is better than nothing, so that 5 minutes is great! you can do 100 situps in 10 minuets, there you go there is 50
when you are cooking in the kitchen, move move move....make it a boxing ring, jump up and down, don't stay still
watch comedies..you lose weight everytime you laugh
and last but not least..always love yourself...

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

My wife had a similar problem, though not a similar situation (already has her degree, not "employed" in the traditional sense).
We got a jogging stroller so we all could go jogging after I got home from work.
From your details, you're one tough lady (new kid + work + school + cutting junk & pop); it seems like the toughest step will be making time.
Leverage your husband's time & availability.
