None of them... my dogs have never had fleas, and my dog only had one tick on him once and that was because we went on vacation in an area with tons of ticks. Other than that not a one of them has ever had ticks, nor fleas and thats the way its gonna stay. They get Revolution or Advantage treatments during times when friends or family have their dogs infected with fleas just in case they bring some when they visit. I hate fleas and ticks and I dont tolerate them on my dogs... thats why I love Revolution and Advantage they are awesome products... you should invest in some so that your dog is protected from parasites.. Revolution protects from ticks AND fleas, as well as mange, worms etc.
PS You have to see your vet to get Advantage... its worth it though.

Use Advantix. You can get it online at any pet store website. It is more expensive than the stuff you get at Walmart, but it is so worth it. It saves the dog from tick-borne diseases which can cost a lot to treat. Never mind your dog will love not having to scratch those pesty fleas.

Why not use Advantix on them and avoid the whole problem? It's much better for your dogs, too. Advantix has to be purchased from your vet or online with a prescription from your vet. It is applied once a month and works very well. I use it year-round where I live because the climate is mild.

My short haired Weiner dog...... I think its because your chow has thicker hair and its harder for the tick to find a blood source through all the hair.
