I had some idiot who has 20+ items in a 15 or less line. He just blew me off. I should've snitched!

Who cares? I used to be a grocery checker and if everyone else was busy and this person was in line I would take them in the express lane. I was also crazy fast at checking so it didn't matter, but the problem is most managers put their slowest checker in the express. So it doesn't matter if they have 5 items or 25 items, it still takes longer than it should. And by the way if you would have snitched what would that have done? The guy was still in front of you already being helped.

NO NO NO it isnt your duty to be a snitch. The merchants register should total out at 15 or 20 or 10 or whatever the line calls for and the customer should be expected to pay and go back in line for the other items.(PERIOD) If this was the case people would not enter that line if they had extra items, trust me.

Reprimanding is the checker/manager's job. Do they know how to count? If they don't care, I would ask them to take down the sign and make it a regular checkout lane. Why make rules you are not going to enforce. If I had been the manager, I would have made the person leave the line and get in the back of one of the regular lanes.

It can be aggravating when you are in a hurry and you obeyed the rules. In their defense, I have had checkers tell me to come over there because they didn't have anyone in line. Then AFTER they started checking, someone with less items came along. So don't always think it is the customer.

Just loosen up a bit, relax and realize there are many more important things to get worked up over.

It's not my responsibility to tell shoppers they have exceeded the limit of items indicated by the sign at the register. It is the checker who should refuse to check them out. It usually doesn't take much extra time, and I've done it myself because all the other lines were held by shoppers with heaped carts.

I was one of those people, and aguy behind me complained. Ijust told him to move. Ishouldn't have to wait in line for half an hour to check out. Iusually ask for a manager to open up another checkout.

No, but I do roll my eyes while they take forever to even put their items on. Then they usually have coupons of some sort. I mean, if they knew they were going to take forever, pick a normal checkout stand!

Again, extreme case of bad manners and putting one's need above others. If there is no one in the store then fine, but really it's about self centeredness. Did you at least give him a dirty look? LOL. You should've said something outloud.

Who are you going snitch to?

It reminds me of when I was behind a lady and her kid was grabbing candy off the shelf. She kept putting it back. At last the child yelled Mom I want some candy or I tell Grandma you put daddy's thing in your mouth again!!

Everyone in the isle was snickering if no laughing!
