All Americans are not socially and politically unintelligent. Some of us are very well-reared.We read about other cultures, travel to other lands;why some of us know how to speak more that one language, fluently! There are many Americans who are well-educated enough,as well as socially astute enough, to not make blanket generalizations about a group of people who are much more diverse than the questioner realizes.
But the questioner perhaps just wanted to see the effect that his very rude query would cause?

There are people all over the world who are socially and politically unintelligent.

Well, I would say that the problem is "perception" and since perception is based on what a person rationalizes in their brains I'd say the problem may not be with "Americans" but with your overly stereotypical and general finger pointing. Some examples of what you are accusing us of might be nice. I love how the rest of the world wants to bad mouth the US until they come with their hands held out for our money.

Just because someone doesn't share the same viewpoint as you does not mean they are unintelligent. That is an unintelligent viewpoint itself.

i'd say it's pretty unintelligent for you to generalize about americans like that...have you even met any of us? Have you socialized with us...talked to us one on one? didn't think so

And how could you be so unintelligent to make such a huge generalization about everyone in an entire country?

Interesting; I'm American, and I don't go around calling other people "unintelligent" without knowing them. It appears bigotry is alive and well in your nation, whatever land it is.

Because they are.
It's really that simple.
Heck ask the majority of them where their home state is on an unmarked map, and they'll stare blankly at it.
If it doesn't affect their back yard or wallet, then it doesn't exist to them.
Selfish, self-riteous and paranoid is the america of today.
Shame, it used to be a nice country.
