It sounds like your mother may be leading you to having an unhealthy body image. A lot of parents are so scared of obesity, they become a bit obsessive about their kids' eating habits. You should listen to your body and eat when you're hungry and stop when you're full. Try to fill up on fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and everything else in moderation. As a soccer player, you need a lot of food to fuel your body. Don't diet because you may end up with an eating disorder. If you are actually overweight or obese, visit a doctor or nutritionist to come up with a good eating plan.

okay I think this is more of a thought. But to shed a little bit of light on this subject I guess she is just trying to tell you that you may eat too much, and she doesn't like going shopping for food so often. Or maybe she also tells you this because you may not be gaining weight now, but later on you might. Right now your metabolism is fast and burns all the fats quickly. Sometimes it's not how much you excercise or play a certain sport it's just that your metabolism is going a hundred mph. From observing my brother, sister, and many cousins I have seen that they too would eat an enormous amount of food when they were young, but now they still want to be eating the same amount but their metabolism has slowed down over the years. It's not that their lazy it's just that their bodies are not burning all the calories, fats, ect as fast it used to.

I dont know how much your eating but active people need exta calories and protein. Are you eating the right things most of the time? Or areyou eating a bag of chips everyday? Something to consider. Go to fitness.com and there is a calorie counter thall help you see how much you should have with your activity level and everything. But your playing soccer now, one day you wont be and youll still have the habits of eating alot, or maybe if your hungry (dont starve) just make better choices more often.

Your not supposed to eat until your full. Your supposed to eat until your no longer hungry. Eat smaller portions, being belt-loosening stuffed isnt a good thing. Save that for Thanksgiving.

Your mom does not have anything to worry about. Eating a lot and still remaining fit is actually a really good sign that your metabolism is high. The best way to deal with this is to do your research, educate yourself on it, and learn enough to teach your mom exactly what staying fit is all about.

You will discover that metabolism has a lot to do with it, and eating less can actually slow your metabolism down

ESPECIALLY since you are active, you need a surplus of calories, and i know, soccer is an intense sport with its share of running. Without the extra calories you will get burnt out, your performance will suffer, and it can actually be dangerous as a calorie deficiency can be very bad for your health.

bodybuilding.com has a lot of great info about the metabolism and other subjects (its not just for bodybuilders) and can really help you educate yourself and the mama

As an added note, the only thing to be careful about is when you become less active, such as after college or what not, as the metabolism begins to slow down after the teen years. Just be careful when this happens, but as of now, no need to worry

before you tell your mother to go to hell or that you have a eating disorder..........yeah anyways....go over what is really happening so you can tell an appropriate answer....(hello people lets respect our mothers its almost mothers day) ....well if you are playing soccer all the time and are very athlete your metabolism is a lot faster than say someone who sits around all day.....its common sense..but do make smart choices on what you decide to eat...it might make your mom feel more asured...she loves you and is just trying to keep you healthy. i hope i was some help.. if you have anymore question feel free to contact me at any time.

Not sure what the question is. I guess you want sympathy.

If your skinny and eating a healthy well balaced diet ignore your mother.

if your skinny and your eating crap, realise that as you age your metabolism will slow and yet you will still crave the same foods or even worse. You will get fat.

If your not skinny, maybe you need a doctors opinnion about what is fat.

I'm 5'10 217 lbs and im not only fat im obese according to the weight charts.

Your mom shouldn't something like that. If your not fat then it doesn't make sense why she would say that. You should eat snacks and other food when your mom is not around. If you play soccer then you must get more exercise then your mom so don't worry about it.

She's worried, or putting you down. Either way it's her problem not yours. Get her to book an appt. with your family doctor. They will tell her to back off as well as tell her the number of calories an active girl needs.

If you work out, play sports and such, you will need more calories to maintain your healthy weight. If you don't want to go the doctor route, go to the web. I know it will be easy to find how many calories a girl your age and with your activity level requires. Get the data and give it to your mother, so she can relax and get off your case.

Honestly, I have been really interested in the type of thing. I have a theory about a possible mother-daughter jealousy type issue. A lot of mothers seem to be their daughter's worst critic. I had this issue with my mother also. At you're age it really hurt me and my self esteem but at my age now, I think it was more of a jealousy issue on her part. You're young and beautiful with soft skin and a fast metabolism. That's something to envy!

She's probably just upset because she is the one who pays for all the groceries! You need to eat more to give you energy if you play a lot of soccer. Some day, when you aren't as active as you used to be, if you keep eating so much, it will start to show!
