Though these are but movies they make a good point don't you think?
When the created think they are smarter than the creator therein lies the problem and ultimately the destruction of the creation.

I have seen both and I agree with you. When humanity thinks so arrogantly of themselves that they think that they are gods, it will eventually backfire. There is nothing wrong with scientific experimentation/discovery as long as it 1) benefits humanity without sacrificing the rights of other humans and 2) recognizes that ultimately God created life. (There is more to this of course, as I also think that there are grey areas such as when is animal testing inhumane, etc, but you get my point.)

The movie Jurrassic Park put it best when Ian Malcom pondered the following:

"God creates dinosaurs.
God destroys dinosaurs.
God creates man.
Man destroys God.
Man 'creates' dinosaurs."

..and we all know how that movie ended.
