I have an older (3-4 years) Kogi (off-brand) LCD monitor that apparently will not work with windows vista. Has anyone heard of monitor conflicts with vista? The monitor works with XP and works with the new computer up until the point where vista starts to load. The monitor error message that appears is: "Over Size Recommand mode 1280 x 1024" then it goes to black.

Looks like your Vista machine has it's screen resolution set higher than your LCD monitor supports. Trying changing the screen resolution to 1024x768 on another monitor & trying your LCD again with it.

Use a different monitor. Set the screen resolution to 1280x1024. Shut down, swap monitors and boot. You should be OK.

boot up in safe mode and try a lower screen res. The default res or refresh rate may be higher than your monitor can support.
