We had plans for dinner tonight. He randomly comes up to me in the middle of the day and says "I'll be at my dad's tonight..."
Should I be mad?

What good will being mad do? Why not ask him what happened to the dinner plans.

He must have had to visit his father due to something his mother brought on. I wouldn't be mad...there is nothing he can do.

maybe something happen to his dad, dont be mad, just talk to him, and see whats good.
