Your BTT will drop right before ovulation and then rise again after. Normally you will also notice when your temperature drops that your mucous will also increase and be very slippery and stretchy. If you have both of these then you'll know for sure that you've ovulated. If you want to prevent pregnancy then you must abstain until your temperature is elevated again for at least three days. If you want to conceive then have sex for a few days before you think you might ovulate and then every day until you ovulate and even on that day. Good luck with whatever you decide to do! :)

According to this, no. It RISES just AFTER you have ovulated, signaling the passing of fertile days that month.

But, I have heard from others that it does DROP just BEFORE. The best way to find out is to try your bbt for a few months and see what is true for you.
