It is definately NOT okay. Sucking on a pacifier can ruin the teeth but pushing them out. A child who is older that sucks on one is using it for comfort and needs to find comfort elsewhere.

I am asking the same question to my sister in law. She has 3 kids, 7, 4, and 2. The 7 year old sucked a pacifier until he started kindergarden, the 4 year old sucks his when he is napping, and the 2 year old walks around with one all the time. My sister in law says she thinks its adorable too see kids sucking a pippy. I personally think it is making them too babyish at that age. I mean come on she has a 4 year old sucking one. I never gave one to my son, he is 3 now, he was a thumb sucker. But now that he is potty trained, he wears pull ups at night and that is the only time he will suck his thumb. It is a little harder to take the thumb away than the pacifier but why would a child at that age want to suck a pippy???

It's not good for a toddler to still suck on a pacifier at the age of three. I have three year old twin boys and I weaned them off the pacifier at least by the time they were two. If nothing else, it will mess up their teeth.

They don't make them for 3 yr olds. It's the parents who encourage this ridiculous habit. Some of these kids are literally growing beards and mustaches and they're still sucking on the pacifiers. Silly.

i think, babies over one shouldn't be sucking a pacifier!!
at the age of 3 your child is talking and learning by the second!
keeping a pacifier is just limiting them to grow up!

It's a personal choice. It's not good for the kids dental development or independence but until you yourself have to go through trying to wean your child from a pacifier I would not pass judgement!

a pacifier is only intended for the first few months of a baby's life, if that, they make them because lazy parents buy them

they should not be giving one at that age it can cause there teeth to be messed up plus at that age if they arent useing a bottle, which they shouldnt be, then it should not be to big of a deal. they make them to make money just like why do they sell junk food when it aint good for you or why they do alot of things like that. good luck

they are not intended for three year olds, but companies do not care if a three year old uses there product so long as the money keeps rolling in.
