My gf is 24 and a horrible driver. She doesnt pay attention and has bad judgement on distances. Well she is with USAA and has been with them for a while on her moms policy and she had a couple of minor wrecks that were her fault. She is now on her own policy and had a wreck that was her fault about 4 months ago and her car was fixed, now she just had another wreck that was her fault last week that totaled her car. The car is worth about 5,000 and with full coverage insurance and 1,000 deductibles she pays 175.00 a month for insurance. On top of the recent wreck she got a speeding ticket about 2 months ago that needs to be taken care of before July.
Do you think she is going to have her insurance canceled? I mean my mouth drops at 175 a month for insurance on a vehicle valued at 5,000 and 1,000 deductibles. I told her if she does get canceled she will only be able to afford liability with high risk insurance.

Most likely, her insurance will not be immediately canceled. She will placed in a "high risk" group and the insurance company will probably send her a warning notice. Her insurance is likely to go up 50-100%. If she continues on the same trend, her insurance will be canceled, probably in the next 2-6 months.
She needs help.

If she keeps driving that horribly, she will either have her insurance cancel led, get herself hurt badly, or end up dead.
Stop letting her get behind a wheel till she knows how to drive.
She should see a doctor because of her lack of attention and her crappy depth perception.

If she keeps on getting speeding tickets, she won't need to worry about insurance because they will take away her license and she won't need it. Yes, if she does keep her license and get another vehicle, she will probably be in the assigned risk pool.

It's highly unlikely they will cancel her in mid policy. What will probably happen is she will get a letter of non-renewal. In which case she will need to start shopping. Try a few local independent agents. Many of them specialize in situations like your girlfriends.

dude, get another gf. she is too stupid to get the message that she will be high risk. every ticket, and accident only tells me she will be driving without ins, very soon endangering other people . she needs to face that fact. she is a danger to herself and you. Sorry to be so factual, but I am speaking the truth. again, I am sorry

I think her driver's license should be ripped up before she kills somebody and/or has her entire life cancelled. I hope you wear a helmet when you go out with her.
