I am a band teacher, and if you can get your hands on any beginning band book. Perhaps a friend, or somebody you know has a young kid who is beginning in the band, or you have access to a school band/chorus teacher. They would be glad to give you a book. I have many many laying around here which not only teach the individual instrument- but teach how to read rhythms, etc. Any music store would also have books on learning to play instruments....
Good Luck, and congrats on wanting to read music.
