i am meeting this guy for the first time. i met him online. we want to hang out tonight but i dont know what we should do. a concert? a drink? i dont want it to be awkward if we end up not being able to talk but i dont want it to be too noisy so that we cant talk. what are your ideas?

try something where there isn't a need to be talking all the time. Like pool, bowling or mini golf. That way if there is a lull in the conversation you can always talk about the game.
Also as the others have mentioned, public place and make sure the people know where your going and what your doing.

Perhaps you could plan a lite picnic with a bottle of wine. That way you can still be around in a public place and have it be on the quieter side.
