Explain why we have 2 sexes?
Why didn't evolution create one species?

How can you dis-count the fact that GOD creator of heaven and Earth knew that it was going to take a male and female and the way he designed them, to pro-create the planet with human beings and animals of every species.

What is evolutions answer?

Male and female homo-sapiens ARE the same species, male and female elephants ARE the same species. Consider the parrotfish, who, if there are no males, a female will change sexes into a male, among other fish that are able to do this.

People adhere to these theories because they have a sound scientific base of support. Also, some people are able to think for themselves and believe what they see, instead of what someone wrote down a few thousand years ago.
We have two sexes to generate greater diversity. And by the way, there are animals that only have one sex (they're called hermaphradites. I'm sorry, is that word too big for you?). There also animals that reproduce asexually- meaning they don't need an egg to be fertilized.
Evolution is not a straight line. It is a branching tree.
Why can't you believe that God is more than 6000 years old. Isn't that discrediting Him a little bit?
Evolution doesn't really address the issue of God, deary, so it has no answer to your last question.
Also, I don't think you understand what pro-create means.
By the way, with so many misinformed, blinded people, such as yourself, running around, I'm really very frightened about what the future may bring.

Why believe one OR the other? Are you so unimaginative that you can't believe that God can use something like evolution to do his creating? Everything - including evolution - came about because God set down natural laws; why is that so hard to understand?

As for evolution - it resulted in two genders because that is what is most efficient to get new combinations of genes into members of a species, and thereby increase the likelihood that a particular species will survive. Three would be too many for a variety of reasons, and one is two few, since there's no way for new combinations to form except for chance mutations (much, much rarer than new combinations that occur through two-gender sexual reproduction). Just look at creatures that have asexual reproduction - they are all literally just alike, and if something like a disease comes along, there's a big likelihood that it will wipe out ALL the individuals that have the same genetic pattern.

Sex is a better option for reproduction than just splitting or cloning yourself. The latter options would just create copies of copies which wear down easier and fail. Mixing genes to create something new and different is a much better and longer lasting system.

You ask questions like this alot. How old are you? Haven't you ever had a basic science class? You shouldn't be on here if you're that young.

I am not sure how to say this respectfully - you are completely unclear on the concept. First of all, evolution and the big bang are two completely separate things.

Some species do not have two sexes. For example, earthworms are hermaphroditic.

The reason we have many different species is that organisms live is very different environments. Tunas and zebras live in different environments and therefore are very different.

Well to be fair, God made Adam first, and that was going to be enough. Not till he realized that Adam was lonely did he make woman. So one could argue that he got it wrong the first time, and corrected it.

Anyway Sexual reproduction serves a very important evolutionary process. Things that reproduce asexually pass on all their genes to their progeny. This is advantagous to the goal of passing on one's genes, but can and has resulted in the extinction of many species. You see if there is a harmful mutation or gene in one's genome (in our case sickle cell disease is a good example, but there are thousands we could use), combining your genome with another's is one way of giving your progeny the chance of living without the defect. This can assure your genes continue on even though there may have been a flaw in your genome. This is why, conversely, incest is bad and results in deformities. People whose genes are too close amplify defects in their genome when they interbreed.

You seem not to understand what "fact" means.

Reminder: You believe in your god. Faith is required. You don't know he exists for a fact.

Posting a science question in the religion and spirituality section often means the asker does not really want an answer. His goal is to ask a question that he believes proves some scientific knowledge to be wrong, or that science does not yet answer, and make the implicit claim that the only other explanation is a god, and specifically, the same god he happens to believe in.

It's the "god of the gaps" - intellectually bankrupt, since it favors ignorance instead of knowledge, and because of the contained logical fallacy.

However, on the off chance that you really want to know the answer:

Explain why we have 2 sexes?
-- It allows for faster adaptation to changing environments. Cloning simply reproduces the previous one. Sex creates a mix of genes in the offspring.

Why didn't evolution create one species?
-- one species was not best suited for different envioronments

there are 2 sexes so that reproduction can take place an so evolution can continue duh!

why would evolution benefit from just one species? not all species can survive, so having more that one species enhances the chance of life surviving.

come on think about it, those were possibly the worst arguments i've heard againts evolution...congratulations

Isn't it better to live as though there is GOD then die and find out there isn't than to live as though there isn't GOD then die and find out there is.
God, " A small piece of dense matter got into my nose"
Angel, "So it wasn't a BIG BANG?"
God, "Nope, sorry, Big Achoo."

And to further answer your questions, they're right, procreation doesn't take sex, as in asexual species. But, that's no fun.
