Well, you're ignorant. Being gay is NOT a choice.

Here are some studies and articles to help educate yourself. Now please stop posting in the LGBT thread with your attacks. You have no idea how much you are hurting some of the younger gay people reading this section.

At this ponit the questions isn't whether or not it's a choice, the question is how much is caused by genetics, and how much is caused by environment. Most DATA shows that it is caused primarily by genetics with a secondary factor of environment. But in both cases the gayness of a person is determined long before they are conscious of the fact that they are gay/straight and that determination is PERMANENT.

Man, I don't hate anybody. Gay people need Jesus as much as straight people do. Here is a question for you... Do you have to teach a kid how to lie? Or steal? Or hate? Are you born a liar, or do you choose to lie, huh? Do you choose to reject God, or are you made that way? Do you choose to look at someone with lust, or are you made that way? We all have a choice. If you say being gay is something you are born with, why was there early believers in the early church that managed to turn away from their sins? I know some people that were gay, and they managed to change their lifestyle. We are born sinners, but Jesus took our punishment, and by believing in Him, you are given the gift of eternal life, and He changes your heart and washes you clean.

I can't imagine anyone sitting around wanting to be a part of a group that's ultimately hated to the point that people will often verbally and/or physically abuse you if they can and denied rights... I know I didn't choose this. I wanted to be popular just like everybody else and loved.

Being homosexual is a choice just like being heterosexual is a choice. Abstinence is the opposite choice.

I think some people have a basic proclivity to what they find attractive, but I don't think it's genetic. More likely, it is a development influenced by environment and life experiences.

I don't hate anyone, and I have several gay friends.

Incidentally, the results of scientific studies to date are still controversial. For Instance, this study undermines the theory of genetic predisposition. I've seen no study that is ironclad. Until we see that study, no one can unequivocally make the claims you are making. I consider the lifestyles mutually exclusive from genetic makeup.

people are extremely ignorant to homosexuality and it's disgusting. some of my best friends and gay and i have never looked at them one bit different. if they can find someone they are happy with i could careless if it's a guy or girl. a lot of people choose to believe it's a choice because they don't understand it. and when people don't understand something they jump to every conclusion they can. one day they will realize there is nothing wrong with it and people can not help who they love and want to be with. i hate when people dis-own their children, friends or relatives because of this. that would be like me telling my brother i am going to dis-own him because he is tall. it's something completely out of their control. and the sad thing is the ignorance of these people is making it difficult for gay people to live normal lives. everyone always asks if my one friend jen hits on me all the time because she is a lesbian. and i just ask them "does every guy you know hit on you" they assume because a girl is a lesbian she is just going to lust after every girl. it's ridiculous. people need to be more open minded

I do not hate gays but I do hate the so called "gay-culture" that leads people to have their lives destroyed by promiscuity and HIV and STDs, unfaithfulness and shallowness.
So many people have got their lives destroyed by this so called lifstyle. I'd rather call it by it's true name, vice.

This is not something I want for my children or for anyone.

The Bible tells us that the person who hates his brother (fellow man) is guilty of murder. So as Christians we should not hate a person because they have chosen a gay lifestyle.

BTW, using your reasoning the pedophile is excused because his sexual lifestyle is more genetic than environmental.

You are preaching to the choir, it appears most of us get that being gay is not a choice.

And I for one don't think it's a sin either.

I would choose Love first, I would choose, Gods love, if I had the love of God, it would compel me to live a Godly life, and love others as I love myself.
