Answering the answerers:
If Jesus was god and god was Jesus etc. etc. wasn't your god being a little sneaky by letting everyone believe he was allowing Christ to die whilst knowing he couldn't? Do you really believe this garbage?

Jesus was not hanging from the cross he was nailed to the cross. Stop picking on God and have a good look at what is happening in the world today with suicide bombers barely out of nappies.

Read the Godpels. In one account, Jesus said that "the Father and I are one". Therein comes the mystery of the Holy Trinity, Triune God. Three persons, the Father, Son and the Hholy Ghost, but still one God.

God became flesh in the form that we know to be his son, Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is God, and when he died on the cross it was his flesh that perished, and three days later he rose again.

God cannot die, because he is an eternal Spirit, but the spirit can robe itself in flesh, and the flesh can die. That is why Jesus is the 'son' of God. Because he was totally human in appearence and in his birth and death. He was also God.

He said in John 14 "I am in the Father and the Father is in me."

Well if you go by the Holy Trinity, he did, kind of, since God, the Holy Spirit, and Jesus are all three seperate parts of one entity. It's all very complicated.

God, as God, cannot be around sin. As a result God sent his Son to take on, as a mortal, the sins of the world and defeat Satan by resurrecting.

Well, in the eyes of mainstream Christianity, God *did* die on the cross, in the person of Jesus Christ. They believe Jesus is God.
