Suppose someone hates life. Bringing him again and again into this earth would produce an evil cycle of misery, which in the lack of the presence of a God could be eternal. Eternal misery, and nothing to do about it. Wouldn't that suck?

Buddhism teaches that when a person dies they are reborn and that this process of death and rebirth will continue until Nirvana is attained.

Most religions believe that the core of the person, the real person, is the soul, a non-material and eternal entity that survives in the afterlife. Buddhism on the other hand says that the person is made up of thoughts, feelings and perceptions interacting with the body in a dynamic and constantly changing way. At death this stream of mental energy is re-established in a new body. Thus Buddhism is able to explain the continuity of the individual without recourse to the belief in an "eternal soul", an idea which contradicts the universal truth of impermanence.

If someone hates life, that does not prove that he will continue to hate it next time around. For example, My Steve committed suicide. Did he really hate life? He always said he hoped there was no reincarnation, because he did not want to be forced to return. He wanted to get it right this time. But he didn't. Suppose his next incarnation gave him the opportunity to learn how to love life. Wouldn't that be worthwhile?

I don't think it's about what you want in the narrow sense you can see now. I think it's about the development of your soul by learning new lessons about life and your role in it.

Besides, I have to come back. I need at least one opportunity to be one of those beautiful, slim, intelligent, and charming females that seem to have it all.

The person can try to get out of existence. The faiths I know about that accept the idea of reincarnation let individuals know how to get out. Existence is painful, but there is a way out.

Well, you are assuming that we take back our negative ideas from this life into the 'after' or 'between' life. My idea of reincarnation is that we make the choice to come back or not - it's not forced upon us.

for a person who hates life having/not having a God would hardly make a difference and the same goes for a person who loves life...not having God is certainly not a problem... :)

depends on your attitude...even so,don't think you'd remember your previous life in your next life :)

Who's to say you'll continue to hate "life"? You won't remember this one, you might, literally, change your mind!
