I mean we already know that most if not all of the old testament is crazy ramblings, but in this day and age, do any adults actually think that 2 of each trye of animals were stored in a large wooden boat for the duration of a great big flood?

What did the carnivores eat? other animals? Where did he store the Whales? What did he put the sharks in? How did he find a polar bear? Did he have african and Indian Elephants?
What if one of them died?

When you think about it, it really is one of the most absurd stories in the bible.

Nope! I don't believe in fairy tales, if Noah had to collect animals around the world, I would guess he would have found out that the world wasn't flat now would he.

For 40 years, people have claimed that they found Noah's Ark, climbing expeditions, taking pictures also satellites were used, even said they brought back evidence saying it was from the Ark, which was proven false.

Some people are so brainwashed in their belief, they'll start seeing what they want to see, hearing what they want to hear, and deny the simple truth of it all.

How sad.

very good question and I am sure you will get some very interesting answers
My take on the subject is...
Noah may well have been a real person who lived about 10,000 years ago around the Black Sea,It was of course very different then, It is believed to have been a land locked lake with a sea level somewhat lower than the then Mediteranean, the med` was held back by a thin and weakening barrier of land that eventually gave way and flooded the erea into what we now see as the Black sea.
Archiologists have found evidence of settlements many miles out to sea under the Black sea and suggested that a civilisation once flourished there.
Noah may well have built a large vessel that could have sustained life for several days and therefore suvived the flood with his family and livestock.
Mount Ararat is a contensiuos matter as it lies on the Turkish borders and some years ago a structure resembling a boat shape was found but this turned out to be a rock formation.
The world described in the bible could not have flooded over as described as there simply isn`t enough water to cover all the globe and throws up to many questions,ie where did the water go,where did the land appear from etc.
The world then may well have flooded to a small restricted area but as man futhered his knowledge of the world the world got bigger,The Greeks said they had concoured the known world only to discover it was somewhat larger than expected.
The Bible story of Noah can be taken as a loose account af an actual event lost in time to the Roman scribes of 301 AD.
Just a small piece of interest for you the original texts that the flood story are from mention that the dove brought back a stalk from the cannabis plant and not an olive branch, cannabis grew wild in that part of the world
Hmmm makes you think though

Most of these things are based on some sort of actual event that hundred of years of telling and re-telling have escalated into the fantastical. You have it in modern times too. The almost certainly was a Noah who did build some sort of boat to save animals from a flood. Although the animals where probably just his livestock and the flood was probably just the annual flooding of one of the larger rivers rather than a God smiting incedent. I suppose the moral is that you should always plan ahead. You never know when you might need to keep your head above water in an emergency.

In all cultures and all civilisations, there is a flood story. And there is archaeological evidence to prove, that the earth was indeed covered in water at some time in the past. Also, photographic evidence has shown that there is a large wooden structure half way up Mount Ararat, which, over time, has split in two. Trouble is, you're not allowed anywhere near it, due to the risk of death by shooting!! As Noah supposedly housed 14 pairs of "clean" animals and 7 pairs of "unclean" animals (unclean, meaning cloven hoofed,) of every animal, can we seriously believe he fitted the whole of the animal kingdom into it? Question, why would he take the whales and sharks out of the water, they live there don't they?

Like so many stories in the Bible the Noah's Ark story seems to be total fantasy... it would obviously have been impossible to collect all the animals that survive today together in an Ark... there are thousands of species that weren't even discovered when The Flood was supposed to have taken place. And what of all the plants? Would he have dug up all the different types of trees and bushes from Arctic Tundra to tropical creepers and preserved them all in their correct environmental conditions?

However, like many myths and legends, the Noah story may contain a grain of truth. Whilst it is true that the whole Earth was never flooded, vast low-lying areas would have been flooded at the end of the last Ice Age when sea levels rose maybe 600 feet. In particular, the low-lying area which is now the Black Sea would have flooded as the sea broke over the narrow strip of land which now forms the Bosphorus. For the people living in this area it would have indeed seemed like the whole world was being flooded... the Black Sea is now many hundreds of feet deep and a gigantic wall of water descending on them would have been just the sort of event to be passed into legend by anyone lucky enough to survive.

Any survivor of such a major disaster would have achieved heroic status (and no doubt he would have exagerrated his story every time he told it, as would anyone who passed the story on). Soon one guy and perhaps his wife clinging to a tree trunk would have grown into him building a raft and saving his family and livestock to him saving all the known animals of the time.

So... no, Noah did not build an Ark and save all the world's animals from a total global flood. What one man may have done is been lucky enough to survive a major natural disaster with perhaps an animal or two.

I have a tough time believing some of those stories. The apologetics say that the fish didn't need to be on the boat, that the animals didn't need much food cuz they were in a state of hibernation, and it was only two of the basic species and the sub species micro-evolved later on. The bible is pretty accurate on lotsa things though - historical references and archaeology.

You'd be surprised to know just how many people actually believe that crock of horse manure.

If they believe that a god made the universe in a poof, they will believer whatever nonsense their sects sell them.

How come Mt. Ararat was the only summit that rose above the waters?? Not to mention the Andes, the Alps or the numerous other very high Huimalayan mountains!!!!

So is Mt. Everest a few thousand years old???

Quite a few people believe the story, but I have yet to hear a good explanation for how Noah traveled from the north pole (to drop off the polar bears) to the south pole (to drop off the penguins) and everywhere in between in an unpowered wooden box.
