You want to breed your dog because YOU want a puppy? Oh boy. And what are you going to do with the other puppies??
And really - if you have to ask this question on here, then you have no idea what you're doing.
No, it isn't ok to breed your dog just because you feel like it.
Please - leave the breeding to professionals, and if you really want another dog, go to your local shelter or humane society and rescue one. There are so many unwanted dogs out there already because of this very situation...all you're going to do is bring more into the world.

What do you plan to do with all the other puppies in the litter?
Do you know other folks interested in pups from this pairing?
Are you prepared to offer health guarantees and support to your puppy people? Do you know what to do when your ***** goes into labor? Do you have all the necessary supplies? Is your dog strong enough / healthy enough to have puppies? Do you know how to care for a litter of puppies? Can you afford the vet bills you might incur if a problem develops with your dog or any of her pups? Are you aware that your dog could die during childbirth?
I could go on with this, but I believe I made my point.
If you want another puppy, there are better ways to go about getting one.

Let me understand this, your breeding a litter because you want to have a puppy? That is insane. With all the puppies and dogs being killed at the pounds everyday you want to add to this overpopulation of animals?
From your question it's obvious you don't have a clue about breeding. Leave the breeding to the professionals and dont' bring anymore animals into this world.
You and your mom should get your dogs fixed.

Normally you want to wait until the ***** is about 2 years old or has already had her 2nd heat cycle, normally you will want to breed or mate around the 4th-7th day of the heat cycle and just keep the dogs together and they will do there thing, normally the more they do it the more pups she will have, also depending on her size. What type of dog is she? You will need to give her prenatal care as well just like a female needs when she is pregnant, my vet gave our Rottweiler some vitamins, more like prenatal pills you will also notice she will be needing to eat and drink more as well if she does get pregnant. I notice you say you want a puppy, what about the other pups, shes not going to just have one

Sorry, but if you can't answer simple questions like that, you shouldn't be breeding your dog. Go to an animal shelter if you want a puppy, and get one that needs a home, don't add to the problem by breeding more dogs.

You should wait until 2 years of age
If you are going to breed though you need to do genetic testing on both the mom and the dad to make sure they do not have genetic defects. Please make sure you are not breeding mutts too. You do not say what kind of dogs they are so don't know.
Breeding should only be done to benefit a breed. Not for the sake of having a cute puppy. If you want a puppy and don't understand breeding responsibility than go get one from a breeder please.

A better idea would be to get your dog fixed, have your mom get her dog fixed and adopt a rescue dog. Shelters have LOTS of UNwanted puppies.

No she is not old enough to mate. She is neither physically nor mentally mature enough for motherhood. She needs to be at least 2 years old.
She (as well as the male) also need to have had and passed genetic tests (OFA/PennHip, CERF/PRA, thyroid etc). These aren't done by simple vet exams. They also need to be evalauted to insure they meet breed standard.
There is a lot more to breeding and breeding responsibly then simple putting two available intact dogs together and producing pups.

It is better to wait till the female is at least 2 years of age...she will not be considered fully grown and out of puppyhood until then.....just like it isnt recommended for a young teen to have a baby as she is still growing..same goes for such a young dog

usually you should wait until the dog is 2 years old to mate it, but you could probly get away with 1 1/2. Any younger and your dog might not understand whats going on, and her body might reject the puppies. Its like having a 14 year old human thats pregnant.
